Darkstalkers is coming back early 2013 for the Xbox live arcade and Playstation Network.

happy moment for all of us who awaited a new game since Vampire Savior in 1998.

Okay ... but isn't this game just a collection of older games? I see nothing new announced, so the first post just seems misleading to me.

Yeah, you've got a point there. But Ono did call this the first step towards the new game... I took that as meaning that if Darkstalkers Resurrection doesn't at least sell, Darkstalkers are NOT DEAD is liable to go the way of Mega Man Legends 3. But I suppose that's a bit extreme. More logical to say it's like how the re-release of MvC2 lead up to MvC3 being announced.

Wouldn't be the first step, pretty sure Darkstalkers PS360 version has been in development for a while, probably been working on it quite a bit since development on SFxTK mostly wrapped up at the start of this year.

Would be surprised if it doesn't launch end of 2013... can't really be much later because next gen will have arrived in force by 2014.

Darkstalkers may not be dead, but the Capcom sprite artists are dead. So I couldn't care less about a new Darkstalkers.

DS Resurrection is just an HD remaster of the old games

no, it's not HD

it's just upscaled graphics with filters
they did not bother redrawing the sprites

that is not true HD
true HD is what they did with Street Fighter 2
