VS Boris round 2.
This is probably the first that Kenichi has been in a straight fight with a tough opponent he didn't have to scape by just to win. Clearly dominant from the start, he didn't rely on his master level durability, kept reversing everything thrown at him before successfully "Befriending" the Russian . Great demonstration on how Lawful Good usually wins, they add their charisma bonus to Smite Evil . Of course, whatever Kenichi can do, his master's just do better Spoiler:

Apachai going all out on that chinese master was epic... "The punch you dont let children see"... lol
And Renka listening to every single thing Kenichi says to her kind is exactly like Honoka xD Miu has a tough opponent... |

The fast pace of releases the past couple of months has spoiled me, it's going to be tough dealing with the fact that there will only be 1 chapter per week now.
Does anyone know how well the anime did in terms of TV ratings and DVD sales over in Japan compared to other shows? Just wondering what the chances are for additional seasons of the anime. |

You guys notice how moe Shigure has been lately? Especially chibisized.
Also notice how Shigure said about Renka's nature of being honest. Is she telling about Miu or herself? Depending on the result on Chikage, Kenichi may very well be Kuudere bait. Kuudere - seemingly emotionless silent girls that transform to loving girls. |

The author is sweating their pants off to deliver the work (figuratively but may well be literally considering the crazy working enviroment they work in to meet deadline.) |

I say he's booking them young. The vast majority of the female martial artist he meets happen to be stacked, highly skilled and spoiling for some action. If Chikage's master [or is it mom] is any indication, the wait will be something to look forward to.
Anyway, Kisara doesn't count because she's in a class of her own |

There were some great fights lately (akisame vs alexander, apachai vs chinese guy, boris kenichi, etc) but i kind of miss Kenichi training days =D If Kenichi keeps on fooling around with Chikage and dragged into Renka's messes it might get tough for him the next time he fights a Yomi.

I loved some of the villain character development in last 100-120 chapters. Early on in the manga, I was afraid Kenichi would fall into the trap of "villain loses -> villain converts to the power of hugs, cookies and friendship". It's great occasionally (Shnpaku's Ragnarok recruits rule) but the author's done an even better job toning it down since. Let the villains be villains sometime, albeit with a human side.
The way Odin described Kenichi as "nothing but a big idiot" was perfectly in character for him as the bitter ex-friend. Boris being kind to the instructor, but continuing to follow his master's orders was nicely done. The King of Pincak Silat saving Kenichi's life, but being too proud to accept his pity. Even Shou, whatever his soft side, never directly betraying his master or mission as a Yomi disciple to defeat Kenichi. Rachel Stanley saving the school students from murder, but seeking Kenichi as her opponent. As long as the villains remain true to character (but not pure evil), I'll keep digging Kenichi. Although I don't mind the odd completely reformed Yomi member . |

Also, following the demon alien isn't exactly converting to the side of good, is it? Last edited by Anh_Minh; 2008-12-01 at 11:35. |

Kenichi's motives, as always are pure. He is not romantically interested in anyone but Miu. Any Growing teenager would have fantasies about attractive women, like Shigure, that does not mean there is real romantic interest. Chikage is indeed more like a little sister to him, Kenichi is NOT a lolicon. I too will miss the days of getting to read multiple releases and hope that the yomi arc will get animated.
