Kitamura is like the most preditable character ever (exaggeration). That's nothing bad at all, in a series like this one i welcome something steady but still that doesn't make a character admirable to me or like a buddy of mine said to me not long ago: It's just Kitamura, you know.

Oh and i like how Ami is the personification of 'plot-progression' and everyone admitting her role as a catalyst, too sad she probably will never become more than that, she's never really part of what she's pushing - another character abused for the greater outcome of a story.

Kitamura's appearance in the series might actually be as a breather between the climatic moments. Its like after you see Taiga sudden go down in the dumps, you will see Kitamura and know at least someone is sane and knowing.

Its a little unfortunate he isn't very popular.

1. Ami 2. Ryuuji 3. Yasuko

I feel that these 3 are what keeps me watching this series, sure others have their moments but from the 13 episodes I've seen so far, these 3 are what gets me coming back every week.

I've voted for of course Ami and Ryuuji. But since I am also a Haruta fangirl... I have to vote for the duo even if I don't like the other guy much. XD I am very happy to see that Kitamura is not doing well. No offense but I don't like the guy.

Actually it is very fortunate, because it shows that rather plain harem-type characters can still be recognized as such and not be loved. It at least gives hopes that people not always like harem the best.

Damn, Ami really has started pulling away in this thing. I wonder if the preference of Ami over Taiga is a cultural thing.

I have to say Ryuuji. He's so geniunely nice to Taiga, dispite how mean she is to him, and how she treats him, refers to him, ect.

I like that quality in a character. ^^

Definitely.

Take Eva for example. In Japan, Rei is the more popular heroine, whereas in the States, Asuka is more popular.

One of the biggest factors at least. I know that the heroine of Ai Yori Aoshi or whatever the anime's name is well-loved in Japan. Most of my friends and I can't stand her submissiveness. XD

Now, I'm curious how well Ami does in Japan.

Same as me. I could never understand why Japanese fans like her so much. Or Rei for that matter. But again, this is a difference between cultures.

In Japan Rei from evangelion is the most popular heroine of Evangelion by far, while in most europe countries or in United States Asuka usually takes the first place.

Ryuuji. He greatly reminds me of Kyon in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
