Start of Mio Nishizono's arc and well... the comedy is pretty generic like always. I can't laugh that much from the way they deliver it. It just lacks impact like the way I played it but still it felt...... great? or entertaining in a way nice! Mio's arc!

Never expected that Mio's arc will come this fast. At first, I believed that her route will be the last out or non-Rin route. But after watching episode, I think the reason why Mio has appeared so late might be because Anime want to emphasize how Mio wants to be alone from others. But yes, she finally has her story before others. Her route is my most favorite not counting refrain, so I can enjoying few more episode of Mio now.
Furthermore, this episode brought me back one of the my favorite funniest scene in the game, when Kyousuke was trying to donate 10,000 yen. When Komari's arc finished, I thought that this scene will be gone too. But it's great they planned it to be here. Now I believed that anime will try to randomly put other fun scene in other girl's arc now. |

The Good
A - Mio's skirt is a normal size! B - Her new VA is fantastic - IMO better then the old one (didn't like the whisper-y voice, the new one just is quieter) C - The comedy scenes. Although I think that should have been shown earlier during Komari's arc, it's good whereever :P The Bad A - Animation! Was choppy (such as Masato coming out of ghost-form during Mio's lecture). I dunno how animations work, but it looks like it immediately cuts from animation A to B without a transition. |

Intriguing episode. Comedy is horrible as always. but we're finally onto the serious stuff, which is what i stick around for. And this time round the heroines voice isn't irritating as hell either! Yay!I'm hoping this is the turning point for this anime...

Humour is such a subjective thing. Can you really call it bad comedy if other people find it hilarious? I've always though Little Busters to be one of the funniest anime/games I've encountered, second only to Nichijou. If it's not for you, that's fine, but it bugs me that people try to objectify something as subjective as humour.
Anyway, enjoyed the episode. Maybe it was just me but the pace felt a bit rushed at some points. Mio is one of my favourite Key heroines and I loved her route in the game, so I hope the anime can do it justice.

A twin? A split personality? Another person living inside of her? Mio becomes not only the most mysterious of characters in the cast, but probably the most intriguing person to figure out what her problem is and how to solve it. As soon as Riki saw her outside without her usual appearance that day, something was bound to happen, whether Riki saw it coming or not. That smile at the end was a kind one, but why do I feel chills down my spine instead of the warmth that it should provide? Maybe the next episode or two can solve this for me.

For what it's worth, I'm finding the comedy pretty bad as well. It's just not funny. The delivery and timing of the jokes are almost always off.
Glad we're finally entering another serious arc. This should make for a nice change of pace. I hope it will be better than Komari's arc. So far, it's pretty intriguing. It seems like Nishizono may have two personalities. [mod edit: removed reference to un-revealed plot detail]

The comedy's Ok, imo. I find that many jokes fall flat with me. However, when a LB! joke is funny to me, I find it really funny. For example, the whole poem-making bit left me literally LOLing.
This episode was pretty good. A good mixture of lighthearted and serious. Mio's situation is interesting. The possibility of a split personality is intriguing. Maybe Mio has a whimsical side that she keeps hidden under a firmly stoic exterior.

One thing I have to give this show: Goofy sleep disorder aside, I really am starting to like Riki. I greatly appreciate having a protagonist who is as quick to pick up on the way the girls word things as I am. With both Komari and Mio, Riki has been right there with me as soon as the girls say something that has distressing implications. He seems to have very good instincts, even when he only has his gut to go on, and he can't quite put his finger on what exactly bothers him.
Mio's manager misunderstanding, and her too-quick leap of imagination re: Naoe x Natsume was probably the most effective joke on me since Riki suggested Kud move in with Kurugaya, prompting the latter to ask "are you trying to make me a criminal??" Having said that, most of the rest of the "daily life" scenes aren't doing much for me. The suggestion of a split personality for Mio is kind of interesting. She does talk about wanting to live multiple lives. When she says it may be "too late" for her, does she mean too late to have normal friends, because her other side fills the role of a best friend for her? Or does she mean it in a more... existential sense? It is a KEY story, after all. |

It is pretty funny just how tightly weather conditions tie into the overall mood in this anime.
You know, even as a guy who's mood is affected a lot by the weather, it would be interesting to see an anime where people are super-happy during a torrential downpour and/or are super-sad even on a bright, sunny day.
