Question: Why does the author have a WN and a LN version anyway?

You'd think that once the contract's there for a print version, they'd prevent the author from continuing to publish his stories online so that they could move more sales? Especially with how popular it is now.

Or are the publishers just happy with being the "reprint" version and a compilation of the web novels at intermittent intervals and just drawings sales from that aspect?

What timeframe did that even happen anyway? Because as far as we know,

Subaru left Rem right after defeating the whale, then he formed the group to take down the Witch's Cult. So the only time that she could have been attacked was after the battle... meaning that Gluttony is still alive? They killed the whales for nothing?

But wasn't the letter sent out long before that? If anything it makes the timeframe of her death uncertain.

Gluttony has many (three?) manifestations. The returnees were attacked by Ley Batenkaitos (if I'm spelling this correctly) sometime before reaching Lugunica. The letter (and probably all other proof of existence) would become blank whenever its author's name is eaten. Hence Remu dead and everything fits the narrative, basically

Last episode lacked meat and pain. It also showed what Nagatsuki Tappei meant by calling this creation "heartwarming". No Subaru being sent back to his original realm after reaching a "happy end", no Subaru being sealed instead of Satella after absorbing too much of witch genes, no Subaru being permanently sent far into the past to become Flugel, no other goodies of similar ilk.

Well, I just hope the author continues writing the web novel. Otherwise it will take time for the light novels to catch up.

The white whale isn't the archbishop of gluttony. That title is reserved for 3 people; Ley Batenkaitos, Louis Arneb and Roy Alphard (Gluttony is the only sin to have multiple archbishops). The white whale does have a power similar to the authority of gluttony in that it can eat names and erase existence, but that's it. The authority of gluttony allows the user to eat both memories and name, and if both are eaten the victim becomes comatose, a nigh impossible one to fix too. Rem got both her name and memories eaten, so she isn't dead.
As for when she got eaten it was when Subaru was fighting against sloth. They were travelling back to the capital.

OK, between Rem and Emilia, a lot of places I have seen online favor Rem for Natsuki. While people can decide who their OTP is, which girl does Natsuki have a stronger rapport/relationship in the novels? I ask this because my preferred ships are usu. the male/female protagonists and such ships tend to be the ones that have the strongest bond/relationship.

I read some places that Emilia doesn't get enough screen time in the anime. If Emilia is the female protagonist, then overall she should be getting more appearances in the web/light novels. Similar to how in SAO 2, Asuna did get less screen time but is the overall female protagonist.

You're kind of strange but... Subaru and Emilia are the main characters of the story. The plot is being driven by Subaru helping Emilia after all.

Well, considering that Rem is down for now, she has free pass to stand taller.

The way they tease us with the sequel being in the light novels! Still considering how fast they´re releasing the volume I say a second season would be in about 2-3 yers more or less; no way this story is not going to get an anime sequel after this much succes, we just have to wait patiently.

Emilia has never stopped bring the heroine even in Arc 3 since the plot never loses sight of her.

-Pretty much everything in the story has revolved around her or Subaru.
-Arc 3 is the only arc where she had a limited presence (since she is not the POV character) and even then that was just towards the middle portion. Despite that she still mentioned a lot by various characters. Once Rem moves out of her brief limelight she barely brought up outside Subaru and those few who know her, nor does she move the plot like Emilia does. The effects of her actions are primarily directed at Subaru.
-It's pretty common for secondary characters to have their development and backstory frontloaded incomparison to the MCs whose have done gradually over the story. Case in point by the time of Arc 3 we still know more about Rem and Wilhelm than we do Subaru until Arc 4. Subaru's POV is main reason we are still able have more have understanding of him than any other character and still gain development despite that. Afterall, Subaru and Emilia are probably the only characters who aren't going anywhere.

Basically, Rem's bigger than usual presence in Arc 3 tend to be overselled a bit even though it onlu occurred under special circumstances and lasted a short period of time.

Yeah and this is quite common with other series too. The absence of one of the main leads for a brief time doesn't strip them of that title in any form. Rem is a pretty important secondary character, though her most crucial role yet has been fulfilled in Arc 3.
