I'm expecting that AFO's long-term goal is to erase the quirks for all quirk users. So in the future, no one has a quirk which effectively becomes like what we are right now.

So the long term goal is probably something like shaping society into what he wants it to be like and getting OFA is supposed to aid him into getting rid of any opposition.

IMO AFO doesn't sound like he thinks he is capable of ruling the world, he sounds like he wants a world where those with power rule over those who don't. In layman terms, implement autocracy as the only form of government system all over the world.

Sadly, if we use history from a merely statistical viewpoint, there are zero chances that Star & Stripes does not lose the war (and probably her also), it might not happen in the next chapter, but in shonen titles, superpowered females are defeated eventually, they might not be depowered (like #18 in DBZ) but become largely redundant and at best end up fighting other females. But in a male vs. female fight, the best case scenario is that S&S will kick Shigaraki's butt only to get defeated later on. Heck, maybe they will mimic x-men's Rogue and it will be Himiko Toga who will get S&S's quirk.

As Star and Stripe faces Shigaraki, the pilot of the jet warns her about the villain, and activates a force field. As for Shigaraki himself, he notes that he feels most odd.... he feels like he's himself, but at the same time feels certain that he's also All For One. Nonetheless, he goes on the attack! He uses several different quirks in succession, but his attacks are all dodged! Suddenly, Star "removes" the atmosphere in front of her, rendering Shigaraki unable to breathe!

This is her quirk in action..... known as NEW ORDER. Whatever she touches and shouts the name of, she can impose a "rule" on it. While the villain is stunned, the jets shoot lasers at him, but he's still able to reflect them back! Star uses her quirk to take hold of the beams, allowing Shigaraki to recover! As the two then get into a melee battle, Star notes internally that she can only impose two "rules" at a time with her quirk.... and she always keeps one of them activated on herself, which is to give herself super strength. She then tells Shigaraki that when she was little, a Japanese exchange student saved her family from a robber. That student was none other than All Might! What stood out to her the most about him was his hairstyle, which she decided to model her own hair after. Upon hearing Star speak of her "spiritual master", Shigaraki becomes further enraged to learn that no matter what country, All Might's heroism is praised. Star tells him that's why he became known as the Symbol of Peace....

She then uses her quirk on the villain, saying that his heart will stop beating if he moves one centimeter closer! It's at this moment that within Tomura's vestige world, we see AFO exert more control over his protege. He says that Tomura's body is about 98% complete, but his hatred is causing them to fuse into a new being.... one that's neither Shigaraki OR AFO. Back outside, Star is confused, since her quirk isn't working on the villain. Suddenly, he speaks through AFO's voice, who says he needs to build up even more hatred, in order to create a brighter future! Suddenly, Shigaraki thinks of his old childhood home, noting that's the original source of his hate. The chapter then ends with a huge explosion in the sky.....

BTW, something of interest to note: It seems that we actually saw the moment All Might saved the younger Star and Stripe in the Two Heroes movie! Pretty neat callback, if I do say so myself!

Hmm... personally, Star's ability reminded me more of something out of Jojo or HxH (at least, in the sense of how super specific her "commands" need to be), but that's just me. I do agree that Shigaraki's latest evolution is what kept him from getting killed by her power, though.

And on that note, considering the pattern of parallels we've seen between Deku and Tomura, I wonder if this current battle is meant to mirror Deku vs. Nagant? You know, pitting the apprentice of a legendary figure against a top-class female opponent who ultimately becomes a guinea pig for said disciple to test their new abilities on? Because that's how it's starting to look in Star's case, sadly enough (at least to me). I really hope she doesn't get taken out as quickly as Nagant did (even if in her case it was because AFO booby trapped her borrowed quirk), but a small part of me can't help but wonder if the author is setting up the USA's top hero to be the ultimate jobber..... hope I'm wrong, though.

This is the kind of original Quirk I was hoping for. Maybe too original, it feels more like a magical ability than a Quirk. It's also ridiculously OP, but of course Shigaraki's identity crisis is the perfect counter for it. That said, I have the same question here than I've always had with Death Note: what counts as a person's true name? The one their parents gave them? The one the most people know them as? Because depending on the answer, "AFO" and "Tomura Shigaraki" could be invalid names anyway, since neither are their birth names. However, since Star specially asked Shigaraki if he's the one they call AFO, it might be the latter.

I cant really say im surprised they are gonna use the newly introduced incredibly OP female hero as the Worf so Shigaraki can show hes dangerous, but its still incredibly annoying

Some quirks like Stain and La Brava's have always been a bit mystica, but Star's seems a bit like it belongs in a different series. I hope Star doesn't get fridged.

I'm not holding my breath but it'd be nice if we got more details about Star's Quirk. FOr example, her super strength can't even compare to All Might's. Why? Can't she just make a rule that she's stronger than All Might in his prime?

Can't say for certain myself obviously, but my best guess regarding Star's self-imposed rule is that it's merely the physical limit she can reach with her quirk. We already know quirks have their limits, depending on the user (I'm particularly reminded of the explanation Bakugou gave on the subject back during the sports festival arc). I mean, for all we know, Star probably COULD make herself stronger than AM if she wanted to... but could her body handle it? Once again, I think back to the sports festival and how Deku's body could barely even handle five percent of OFA's power back then. Star might experience a similar backlash if she were to go "Plus Ultra", as it were.....

Maybe is a mental thing, like in DC with Wally West back in the days when Barry Allen was still dead. Wally couldn't even entertain the idea of being faster than his predecessor so he remained slower until he finally got ever the mental block.

Even if she couldn't straight up turn it into something different, couldn't she have messed with the air's chemical reactivity to poison him?

Or with the Boltzman constant to blow up his lungs?

To be fair, that move would kill most people. And the other options you suggest requires her to be smart, which she may not be. The rule that his heart will stop if he moves is a pretty dumb one too considering he can regenerate.
