I'll give you Tokyo ESP, but Dagashi Kashi is mighty fine for an anime adapted from a gag manga about Japanese snacks. What do you expect from Dagashi anyway? An overarching story with big emotional impact? Or are you one of those people who are salty about one female character getting more spotlight in the anime? I hope not.

Well, this piece of news certainly made my day.

Blood Blockade's season 1 was one of the best anime I've seen in the last couple of years. Just hope the new director can measure up.

The zany stuff was a whole bunch of noise and nonsense, so Matsumoto leaving is for the best it seems to me.

Damn, this is amazing news. After seeing S1 I went ahead and bought all the manga and I've got to say I really really hope they use the finale of s1 of the manga as the finale for this season of the anime. Like it's perfect and amazing and I know the manga wasnt finished yet when the anime started so... But there's a chance this time!

It's definitely going to be an anime original ending again.

They can always end it using vol. 10 arc. All they need is to introduce the remaining unintroduced casts. Even if they're going to skip some chapters, they can always adds them as OVAs or s3 alongside B2B chapters .

The original ending is way too ordinary compared to the ending of season 1. They're going to have to dress it up a bit.

The staff change pretty much killed any hype I had.

Kekkai Sensen was easily one of THE best shows of last few years and large part of that was due to the director.

Assigning the dude who did Tokyo ESP for second season just literally screams trainwreck. Why, Bones, why? This is one of your best selling franchises that got VERY popular. Why assign an awful director and writer to this? Why do you want to Takahiro Miura a series that literally makes you money hand over fist?

But why? Anime original content wasn't anything special and pretty much retconned itself at the end into nothing.

Honestly, what I loved about the first season was just the anthology stuff. Leo going around the city and interacting with different things and people. Like that mushroom dude who loved burgers. That was one of the most emotional episodes I've seen ever. Compared to that, Black McEdgelord's emofuckery was almost laughable by comparison.

White was OK tho.

That was the only episode that was great.

I don't. I think the anime original characters and storyline have been the worst thing about an otherwise excellent show, ultimately dragging it down and preventing it to achieve the greatness it could have otherwise. (It's not the fact that there were anime original characters and story - it's those particular characters and that particular story.)

Her story was wrapped up too nicely. It's time for Libra to move on to fresh threats.

The original characters and story sent a show already on the peak of greatness rocketing out of the atmosphere. The story of White, Black, and the King of Despair embodied the core themes of the show and provided a fresh take on a somewhat stale source manga.
