Synopsis Description:

Amane Fujimiya’s neighbour in the apartment he lives in is the school’s number one lovable angel: Excellent and with a level of beauty that can only be described as angelic – Mahiru Shiina. Amane, an ordinary student who doesn’t stand out, is her neighbour, but until now, they didn’t interact with each other. After meeting the soggy angel in the rain:

After looking it up it seems like this might have started a web novel originally? (Can't tell for sure) It sounds like a story I kept running across many times awhile back but I never read it or read much of it.

Then again so many webnovels have "angel", "goddess" and "next door" in their titles that I might be confusing it with something else.

My takeaway from this episode is that if you comfort a crying girl in the rain, you get an angel for a wife !

Amane seems like a stoic, prickly, yet not unkind type of MC, who seems pretty laidback and disinterested most of the time but can't help but be there for a girl in what might be her saddest moment. Which is good, because his life could definitely use a woman's touch because he's quite the slob who does the bare minimum of taking care of himself, and the God of Romcoms even rewarded him with a spot next door to a certain Angel !

Mahiru is a very polite and well-spoken young lady, though very direct and not one to mince words, and she has the looks and grace of a true angel, but is also very dutiful and caring. She can also come off as strict and a little cold behind her public persona, but it's more real compared to her school persona. I guess it's kind of a more cynical Tohru Honda, given her VA? It seems like something with her rich parents and her having to keep up the perfect girl persona for so long is part of why she was crying at the beginning .

Ah...the classic Japanese cold. Perfect for setting off some nice relationship moments though .

Itsuki has a girlfriend! I like it when the best friend characters have lives and romances outside teasing and wingmanning the MC .

So is Mahiru going out of her way for Amane out of a sense of obligation, because she already has a crush on him, because she thinks he's in a real sorry state without him, or because she can be more open with him than she can be at school? Or maybe all of the above? Either way, Amane gets free dinner, cleaning, and the presence of a cute girl in his life, so not much to complain about .

Cleaning Mahiru with that bun and cargo pants! She has a very divine and striking feminine style, yet she looks amazing dressed more casually to boot! Also flustered Mahiru is shaping up to be pretty adorable .

There doesn't seem to be any high expectations from the pairs' relationship so far other than enjoying each others' company, but that might be the seed that bears the fruit of true love at the rate this is going !

That was a pretty funky and jazzy OP theme! Can't wait to see the visuals !

That actually makes this even more generic.

But not Narou. That makes this valuable for some reason this season
