Avan actually felt the hatred in Hyunckel's swordsmanship but he still kept teaching him because what could go wrong?

Hyunckelt hates humans but he doesn't fight women. Weird distinction to make.

I don't think that Hyunckel actually hates humans.
More like he doesn't care about them (understandable considering that Avan is probably the only human he has ever interacted with) and therefore considers them acceptable collateral damage in his quest of vengeance against Avan.

Not fighting women is just an old code of chivalry. And it's not like "female humans" are the only ones considered women

Seems rather an odd code to adhere to for him though. How many women does he think his armies are killing off on a regular basis? But it is fine so long as he doesn't have to personally fight them?

I'm better with some of the more obvious stuff he's ignoring. Like how his adoptive father and his allies caused the death of his biological parents. And while his dad was cool in looking out for him, it was all while the Demon King's armies were doing some pretty horrific things. But I get it. He's firstly obsessed with his revenge and secondly never really spent much time with people. So he can pretty easily detach himself emotionally from what is going on.

If Popp wanted to get Dai fired up to destroy this guy he should have just reminded him that Hyunckel might have gotten Leona killed. I mean she's probably fine considering the kind of show this is. But they don't know that. Just imply to Dai that Hyunckel got Leona killed and the results will take care of themselves .

Eh, I don't think Pop will be fine in hurting Dai with the thought that Leona might be dead, even if it's to help him defeat their enemy. I'm not even 100% sure Dai would become angry instead of just being sad...it worked against Crocodyne but watching something happen and being told something happened might elicit different emotional responses.
The "I don't like fighting women" thing...yeah, typical shounen chivalry code. I'm not too fond of that, but st least in this case Maam wasn't a real threat to Hyunkel so that didn't put him at risk.

It would have been funnier and more realistic if he just couldn't tell humans apart from each other, let alone tell men from women.

Well, it's not like demons (like Hadlar) look very differently from humans.
Other than skin color and pointy ears, the appearances are the same. Oh wait, so they are elves?

It turns out his "no killing women" policy was taught to him by his father. Going by the preview, I guess we're going to find out Hadlar was the one who killed his father, for disobeying orders or something.

Seems like the reveal they are heading towards. Which doesn't seem beyond belief I suppose. Could see some hesitation from the skeleton knight in dying for Hadlar considering he did have a kid waiting for him. Or could just be that he lost the fight, Avan didn't feel a need to finish him off, and Hadlar pissed off at his failure killed his subordinate.

At the very least it makes a bit more sense for Avan to take in this kid if he was straight up asked by his father to do so. Although still very much on Avan for not...ever saying anything about that.

Anyways, we'll see how things turn out.

Again, not spoiling next week's reveal, the reason behind Barto's (skeleton knight) death was due to a certain deed which was unforgiving if we look the backstory from the villain's perspective.

The fight between Dain and Hyunckel is really good.
And lol Popp asks for heal when he only received one single punch in the entire fight

I know it should be the other way around, but Hyunckel holding up Dai and his friends above his head while he was burning alive reminded me a lot of One Piece.

It sucks Dai remembers nothing of the fight, but I guess Popp can always tell him about his magic sword trick.

Nice that they changed a bit the formula for this fight, instead of using the dragon crest Dai developed a new fighting style and a new signature move. And Fraizard in the end was kind enough to remind us (like Zaboera before) that not all the commanders are honorable and chivalrous.

For those who are wondering, Fraizard is made of solid rock with magic properties. When he gets mild-serious flames erupt from his left side and harsh cold air emanates from his right side, and when he cools down it turns rock solid, giving him that appearance.

In short, his outer appearance hides what he actually looks like.

My condolences to Maam. Now she's really stuck with Popp . Her one chance to find another love interest just went full Terminator 2 there.

But yeah, things played out as expected. Hyunckel's father getting killed by someone else and eventually giving him a small bit of redemption. Although this still leaves Avan looking like a moron. Yes, getting Hyunckel to believe him without that magical recording wasn't going to be easy to do. But he still trained a person he knew wanted to kill him. How did he figure that was going to work out?

Now I would say that Fraizard showing up was a bit of surprise. Something was bound to happen, but I didn't think that specific guy would pop up. Good thing for him that Hyunckel decided to throw his sword instead of using the long range killing move he created . At least it lets Hyunckel go out fairly well. And now the cast can move on to taking this guy out and not feeling remotely bad about doing so. Should be easy enough for Dai to go super mode against this opponent.

You know, I'm kind of surprised Dai didn't land in full 'I'm going to wreck you' dragon mode from the start. This enemy has pushed his luck way too far. Credit to Flazzard for getting to show off his talents against those that aren't the main characters. Glad to see Leona displaying her own good qualities. She's not a combat master here, but she's got guts. Only means so much if you don't win the fight. But her leadership skills have clearly developed over time.

Should make for a pretty good fight coming up. This guy is not going to have any redemption moments . Going to be utterly despicable to the end and that should allow for a pretty intense fight.

I'm glad Dai retained the skills he learned while he was unconscious. Not sure how useful they'll prove to be against Flazzard though. He can absorb both ice and fire.

Leona seems to have matured a lot.

In the episode, Flazzard used his ice hand to absorb the ice spell, and his fire hand to absorb the fire spell. The solution is to get Dai's fire sword in close combat and attack the ice side. Dai already has shown how powerful his fire attack is, so it should be quite effective.

I doubt it will be that easy. Flazzard is clearly well aware of his weaknesses and has trained to cover for them.

Well there's always the option of Dai just getting really angry, getting really strong, and just beating him with his present best move. Magic sword would be handy, but might not be a necessity to beat this guy.

And even though Flazzard has trained to cover for ranged attacks targeting his weaknesses, hard to say if he's that prepared for a magic sword. Tough to use an arm crossing his body to protect the entire other side of his body. There are likely to be openings to exploit.
