BIOS Screen caps?

Is there any way to get screen capture BIOS settings? I'm pretty sure prtscrn won't work as I think it's an O/S command only and not a Bios function. I'm trying to write up a guide to BIOS, (yes I understandthe language used in BIOS by different manufacturers differs greatly) but if it's possible I'd like to have a diagram of what I'm trying to do to help explain it.

Not without some KVM over IP device, I think. One of the server providers I'm with offers this, and when the server was rebooting I could see the whole BIOS init process using VNC, which should be trivial to capture (and actually I did do that, to capture the output of a boot time kernel panic I got when trying to install a new kernel).

Of course you could always use a camera, although taking good pictures will be tricky.

Wow, that's cool. I manage a number of machines remotely with ssh, but rebooting has always been a difficult problem. I'll have to look into those KVM/IP devices. Thanks!

Many computer BIOSes allow for serial console redirection. It outputs what would normally appear on the monitor to the serial port on the machine.

You could connect another PC to the first machine and use a terminal app like tera term or putty to access the BIOS. You could take screen shots there.

I guess I'll have to try the camera, at least a 40" screen should make it easier hopefully
