Huh? *looks back*

Hmm, I think I misread the post, this being the Movie 2nd thread and all . Sorry about that.

Btw, my point is that fair-is-fair; if the Movie axe the dream sequence just as they chop other scenes with little plot significance then you're right, they're doing it out of the time necessity. But if she alone gets her good scenes intact while others lost theirs, then...well, I can only say that our worries were justified.

Looks like we have half a year (any actual date announcement yet) before we'll find the answer.

I will concede to that.

I'd be sad to see the dream sequence go; I thought it was one of the better/more poignant scenes in A's (and I say that as a pretty dedicated Wolkenritter fan).

But yeah, due to being long and not plot-critical it'll definitely need paring down, if it's still in at all.

I wholeheartedly agree.

It's too bad that with a movie format, a little over half of the series is going to get cut. Losing great scenes is unavoidable. I wish it was a 2-part movie or something.

I'd say cut it, even if it's sad, simply because it isn't needed for the plot, and don't think it can be expanded too much. It'd probably turn out a lot like the one in the anime, except smaller, which... to me, makes it kind of pointless. I do think a two parter could work, though, not sure where the cut off point would be... maybe they'll do it that way anyways, not much is known about it.

theres enough material for about a movie and a half but not 2 unless they plan to introduce the materials or something cause putting too much slice of life in a movie screws up the pace so 2 movies seem s unlikely.

If they expanded greatly on the battles, introduced more former master stuff, they could pull it off. But I do think two movies with just the second season might be excessive. It's just hard to tell really what would work best.

It's not hard to make a 12-13episode series into two movies. Madoka Magica is doing it. And the first Nanoha movie was long, at around 2hrs and 10minutes. If they did two movies at 1hr and 30minutes...That would be prime.

It's not going to happen, but it's the thought that counts!

I like the thought (especially if it means bringing Graham's scheming back to the story), but I honestly don't know where the cut-off point would be. Macross Frontier managed to pull this off because they conveniently have a big battle at the middle of the series, a battle which the protagonists won. IIRC not only the fight at the middle of A's lacked that kind of End-Part-One feel, it also ended in a draw - not exactly the best way to leave viewers hanging for another year.

I think that was the same issue I had, A's is so tightly packed together finding a good stopping point... is kind of difficult. I mean, most of the points I can think of are too early or too late in the season to really apply. I guess the reveal of the twins might work, when they start messing things up permanently, but it's not that exciting.

And Madoka probably has a lot more they want to expand on, just based on the general info on the series I've gathered. A's is pretty solid, and doesn't have too much to expand on. If they had to do two movies, sure they could find something, but not much comes to my mind barring flashbacks galore.

Twins aren't going to be in the movie, however, IIRC.

From what I understand, the first two Madoka movies are remakes, while the final movie is different. My guess is that the end of the second movie will have an alternate climax compared to the original ending, so that they can continue with a third movie from there.

...And that's just it, Nanoha A's has a lot it can expand on as well.

It still doesn't answer where the cut-off point would be, though.

Since they're writing out the Lieze twins, who were central in quite a bit of the A's plot and fights, everything's up in the air at the moment.
