That made no sense. I can see the twist with stocking working but it doesn't make sense why she would come back help stop corset and kill the demon. Then after they stopped the bad guys kill panty and then blackmail brief to open another gate. What was that point of stopping the ghost why not just comeback and stop panty from stopping that ghost? What the gainix?

Wow that last bit sure took me by surprise, I think I sat in my chair for about 2 minutes going wth?

I think there are two ways to take this ending

1. The the show ended when they all drove off in See Through and the credits played. The thing at the end was just Gainax's way of throwing us a wtf moment and is not to be taken seriously but in good fun.

2. There is going to be a second season, premise will be Brief/Chuck and the Demon sisters working to restore Panty to normal then confronting Corset and Stocking at the end, not sure how this would pan out though as there are alot of holes for the plot. How the episodes would actually work to be enjoyable without Panty/Stocking as the main characters would be difficult to do well, but maybe we will see.

If I'm not mistaken, Gainax is making an extra OVA episode to make up for the recap episode so many people seemed to complain about (since the final episode hadn't aired yet). It is set to be released with the final DVD and Blu-ray release; when that is exactly is beyond me.

As stated above, we will get more Panty & Stocking, even if it is just one episode and even if it's unlikely to continue the storyline established in the twist ending.
