If you have to choose a series out of all the anime titles out, what will it be?

For me Kemono no Souja Erin made a stronger impression, for whatever reason... perhaps there was something in me that identified with the MC more or something about her and her story that moved me more. Like others have mentioned about Maison, it is a series I always find myself "coming back to".

Different folks will respond to different things, of course, but it really is a delight to find a work like that in any art medium; they are few and far between for many and quite worth the search. ^^

In many ways it's a very typical romance/daily life/comedy series for anime, but it just really gets you caught up in it somehow. I always feel like I'm one of the gang when I watch that show… and of course, the ending is very satisfying.

Spoiler for minor Maison Ikkoku spoiler, just a commentary on character growth without any actual plot details:

Godai's maturation and "manning up" gradually is also portrayed perfectly. He didn't change too drastically, but just enough that it believably seemed like the kind of growth you'd see in a person entering adulthood.

Actually, I have not seen Kemono no Souja Erin, but you have certainly piqued my curiosity. I will have to check it out.

Usually I try and link to licensed versions, but in the case of Erin, I have to violate my rule. Erin was one of the first series Crunchyroll subbed, and it shows. Watch the excellent fansub instead.

And here, I was thinking that it was supposed to be SoL...
Here is my impression so far. I'm going to continue to plow through from here. It seemed things have gotten interesting.

By the by, you have only passed the first gate. The story will go through at least four or fivr other mini arcs and each arc will build and detail the world more and more intricately, one layer on top of another.

Regarding Erin, all I can say is, the best part is yet to come. Episode 1-7 are good enough but only a taste of the greatness to come.

So hard to choose, but I guess if I wanted to watch a anime with all my friends, those who watch anime and don't I would go for something like Cowboy Bebop or Samurai Champloo. Then if they enjoy it go to School Rumble and GTO.
