Maria x Hayate episode, featuring guest appearances from Yukiji-sensei and Izumi and co. Maria is adorable in this episode, and I think anselfir would be proud ^_^

Highlights included Maria cosplaying as Suigintou(!!!), as I posted in the Saimoe thread, and Nabeshin reappearing.

Next episode looks like to be an another anime-original, as i don't think I have encountered it in the manga yet, thus, further increasing the chance that Hayate might go greater than 52 episodes. (wishful thinking)

While the quality of the anime-original eps are generally pretty good, this is one was just AWESOME! I actually wish it was in the manga, I was sorta sad when I reached the end and remembered it wasn't ;_;

This episode was damn amazing. I loved it, absolutely. The Maria x Hayate moments were done so perfectly, the fashion show was pretty cute: Maria as Sugintou, best cosplay and seiyuu joke evar, Maria getting hyped up over what fashion has to offer was adorable very adorable. Plus, as usual, the three stooges and Katsura-sensei are always there to brighten the episode up. The "tears" scene itself was pretty emotional as well. Pretty evident now Maria does have feeling for Hayate. The moment itself in that ep gave me a warm feeling in me. And of course, the Nabeshin cosplay made me laugh the living hell out of myself as well as some of the other funny shinanigans were fairly good.. And the end of the episode, alias the Ferris Wheel rde in the night was all too goddamn amazing. Just wow, I absolutely enjoyed this episode. Maria's one of the best characters in this series, well 2nd to Hinagiku at least. I give, 10 out of 10. One of the best anime originals in the series yet. This episode delivered for me, way absolutely. One of my favorites.

The only thing Maria needs to do in order to overtake Hinagiku now is to say in the show: "O-baka san~"

Forgive me, I'm afraid I'm going to switch from supporting Hina-Haya to Mary-Haya now. Maria is the only character in the show whom Hayate holds close-to (close to? definite is more accurate) romantic feelings for. His other relationships are intimate, but distinctly platonic. And since Gin-sama... I mean Maria is at least tempted by Hayate, I say: Go for it.

Actually, the narrotor asks the audience to ask their older family members or MARIA about the dancer group in 原宿 in 70-80's last century, it implies that the age of maria. There is a contradiction with the narrotor saying that maria STILL 17 years old on the very beginning of the episode.

It's a joke on how Maria is "sort of" behind the times.

Will Maria be close to Hayate?

In Nagi's quest for Hayate's heart, Maria will be the Final Boss standing on her way. Isumi already predicted it.

1. Isn't the light purple cloth same one Shiho Matsuri wears in SOLA?

2. In fact, isn't all the clothes from other Anime series?

3. Maria wearing Suigintou dress! Should we call her Marigintou or Suigintaria?

4. Nagi was awfully cute at the initial entrance.

nagi's quest can't be serious. children do not normally have such aspirations, and most children in romantic situations are just targets of exploitation.

They're still in the school hiking trip arc.

This is one good episode, i give it a 10 for its plot. However, the animation quality slacks a bit, visible especially with the drawings of Maria-san in several occassions.

There're tonnes of references in this episode; i don't think i catch them all. It seems that Nabeshin would be a recurring one for some time. We also have D.C., Gundam and Rozen Maiden in it. Also when Maria-san says," アニメ界の蛯ちゃん (Ebi-chan from anime world)," she's probably referring a Japanese model/actress/... Ebihara Yuri. The scene on the ship is likely to get its inspiration from Titanic.

And there's also this one:

It's referring the actual production studio of this series, SynergySP. It's written in hiragana しなじーSP rather than the official one in katakana シナジーSP.

Hopefully someone can find a way to keep tracks of all those references, they're piling up very fast.

I wouldn't be surprised if they go with this for future episodes, maybe get some triangle love story going (50/50 chance i say of this happening).

Anyway, echoing what's already been said --- lovely episode. Maria hasn't appeared as of late, so this episode was very much needed.

this episode earned Maria a serious amount of moe points. so if you are easily swayed, what you said might just happen.

with that said, Hina's still my numero uno, Maria closing the gap at number two ^_^

Besides, of all the character songs, I think Maria's and Sakuya's are the best of all.
