If Beato really does turn out to be Battler's mom, then Ryukishi will have pulled the hardest troll of all...and he'll have the last laugh as he's brutally mauled by thousands of shippers.

Seriously though I can't imagine her being his mother for various reasons, but really, the romantic subtext is just too strong. If she turns out to be his mother, then I will gladly admit that Ryukishi is the greatest troll of all time.
