Yep, it's that one.

Frankly, after watching that, I'm dreaming of seeing this getting at least one breather episode that basically take place in a hot spring town (even before the episode and even the show aired) and though the episode was the closest exemple I can think of, it did not get enough bathing service (quite little actually; especially coming from me wanting to see how the Kabaneri can bathe in hot water as a bath fanservice lover in denial ).

It's weird that I'm both surprised it's happening while also not surprised at all that it's happening. I thought they would give up on making this series happen. Mixed feelings on this one but I'm sure I'll watch it when it rolls around. Action anime are so scarce some seasons.
The mention of the fan event having fewer people without Miyano and Kaji is funny to me and made me think of Chitose from Girlish Number's situation(Mumei's seiyuu). Biba seems hated so I wonder what big name seiyuu they will bring in to attract people in the next season. Hopefully they don't waste him/her.

Can't say this is a real surprise. The first season did sort of end with a "to be continued" feeling. Hopefully they learned from season 1 and now know that Biba was a huge mistake.

Quite hyped for Kabaneri aka best show of the year getting another season. 2018 is still far away but the recap movies and Shingeki no Kyojin 2 will lessen the wait.

If we're getting a second season I'd have preferred S1 ending with Biba winning and rallying everyone to fight the Kabane, Mumei fully turning into a super Kabane and running off into the wild while Ikoma chasing after her to save her, and vowing revenge on Biba.

It would work I guess, but at the same time I'm expecting a rather bittersweet (or less, sad) for the sequel considering Okouchi's recent original anime track record.

As for the antagonists, I would think the Kabane should play a central role once again and if they wanted to make a human antagonist, they better choose the scientifists behind the experimentation to fullfill such role and how things seem to tie the whole time (not just Biba, even though he's already dead).

I don't feel like he is that popular of a character in spite of Miyano voicing it, but not exactly the most unpopular one either. From what I've seen, in the Western fandom at least, most people who watched the show hates him even if they like the series themselves. Biba is probably the reason Kabaneri isn't selling great like it expected to be, quite the opposite; the preordering sales in the seasonal anime ranking while the show was aired plummeted because of him too.

He also being a terrible villain was a negative factor.

maybe with this season, we get to flesh out the world more and learn more about the kabane and all the variants the crew has yet to encounter. I wish they did that in S1 and end it with a Biba cliffhanger.

Glad to see the ride will not be over after the movie. At least we will get to know some crucial themes that are missed in the original series. And Ikoma's fluffy hair is finally growing back!
