For a moment there I thought it was Aya Endo who was voicing Freya. It sounded very similar.

Not very spoilers since the LN itself makes a conscious effort to "hide" it.

But gods are more or less moral on the mortal world. The unchanging nature of heaven is what they were bored with so coming down to the lower world they chose to becomes "mortal" ish.

Their godly powers are restricted either on the conscious level or unconscious level. Suffice to say, the penalty is strict to the point they won't do it under normal circumstances or extreme ones, but _spoiler_spoiler_spoiler_ etc who knows.

One thing I believe left out of the anime is, there is a loong looong loong list of gods that want to come down to the lower world. Basically, the gods have to take over the duties of gods that go down to the lower world, so it's more or less a vacation.

I assume if they die their mortal bodies is release and sent back up, to wait on a very eternal long line. Not a good way to end it.

So I believe gods are "mortal" if you can call mortality with super human powers. If Gods have powers one of them much surely make themselves moral.

Point of reason : Loki-no-boobs. No matter how much she hates it, it's what it is. Now why do you think that is?

We see some of Bell's skills and action picks up again. Well, I think he did alright and put up one hell of a fight considering his life was on the line. Now I do hope he improves a bit soon though beyond this.

It's been confirmed. Bell can spin in the air. Was a decent episode, was waiting for Hestia to give him the knife already. I suppose Bell just needed to have a better mood to use it properly.

This episode was amazing, even better than reading the LN. I love the confidence between Hestia and Bell and how those 2 trust each other at the moment of the fight.

This is the beginning of the badass Bell.

I dont disagree it was far better than expected considering they actually made this look like a fight but i still must admit overall i'm disappointed. The ending was beautiful but most of the episode Bell was absolutely pathetic and its almost shameful to call him the MC. O well this should be a nice boost to bell as far as i'm concerned and a needed one.

Well, that's right but all that happens because at this point Bell is a delusional kid but this particular encounter is (as you said) the boost he needs.

Raymond that doesnt change too much going forward. In truth he's one of the more unworthy protags i've watched in an action anime for a while.

That white monkey monster was more than persistent.
Hestia can be just as stubborn as Bell.
So she finally gave him the new weapon.
It was a nice fight ^^ and it didn't go unnoticed!
Looks like Hestia might get some competition..
I decided to pick this up after all.

That was a pretty good episode. Get some background for Bell and his search for a familia. Lost his grandfather to monsters and decided to go and become an adventurer. But sadly it wasn't a smooth process in finding a familia that would let him join. Not until Hestia who didn't have anybody anyways and so was pretty willing to let him join up .

I thought the emotions of the episode were good. Bell worried about Hestia, Hestia worried about Bell and Hestia getting through to him that him dying while she hides in a corner won't make her happy. I think she really had a good episode as a whole.

And yeah while it would have been nice to give him the knife earlier, doesn't seem like he would have been able to win without the power boost and updating his status. He just might have lost in a slower manner.

It wouldn't do Bell justice and it wouldn't fit in the story. I'm not sure if you really watched the episode but he's supposed to be a newbie. This boy lived back in a village with his grandfather, who fed him with stories about dungeons and whatnot. We do not know why grandpa ended up in a dungeon, but we do know that Bell's peaceful life ended. He needed a way to fend for himself, only to find out the harsh reality. Two lost souls meet when Bell runs into Hestia. He never would have met her if he was this badass you want him to be, nor would he have fancied Aiz as much as he does now. Not to mention that during the fight we saw a flashback of the minotaur from ep 1, do you seriously think that he got over his trauma over that?

What's supposed to win us viewers over to like Bell is his juvenile demeanor, in literally everything he's not more than a child. His lament over his weakness, desire to become stronger and eagerness for adventure are things that are set in place for us to have some sort of attachment to him, be it like/sympathy/interest/etc. I'm sorry but you'll either have to be patient or just skip this series if you can't see why it's totally fine for Bell to be a hero in spe.
