Wow! i don´t read the thread for a few months and now i discover we sn incoming third season in the form of more OVA, and the Reina back to the future short story along with the Kingdom of Valkyrias were included in the canon in the form of volume 17 and 18, things are looking good for this series!.

As far as I remember it was mentioned that they will go up to 16 or at least 15.
What I would like to know is if there is any plan for 7. Why not a movie. It's strange that we haven't got the origin story.

Maybe they´ll insert some flashbacks for the audience to see part of his first meeting with Avrora?.

The funny thing is that back then when the first season started we already got the end of this incident first. It's just strange why they haven't started the second season with this flashbacks.

The best outcome might be if we got the backstory in a prequel movie like Kizumonogatari from the Monogatari series.

The romaji is "Owaranai Yoru no Utage", for those you may know better.

So does this mean this is the novel version of the Valkyria OVAs that aired after the first season of Strike the Blood? Hopefully someone here will give us a good summary of the plot once that volume's out.

Don't think so, since we already had that with Vol.17. That's something completely different.

Btw, since I decided to read Vol.7/8 a little while ago (it's great how you could start the novels with this volumes and get a fine overview) , I understand now why they haven't been adapted yet.
You can fit them in later just fine, since nothing that happened contradicts anything. They just had to change some things to make it work. The same reasoning works for Vol.10 too.
So, if my theory is correct than "Season 3" should end up bigger than expected, starting with 7,8,10 before doing 13-16.

OVA seasons tend to be small ones. Look at how StB Season 2 turned out. With so few episodes per arc they likely had to cut out a lot.

I would still like there to be a prequel movie for this series released in theaters. Look at how Shinmai Maou no Testament Departures turned out. Besides, a prequel movie allows new viewers to see the story fresh without needing to know anything about what happened in the main series.

One prequel movie wouldn't work. They would need at least 2 since you can't cram 7 and 8 into only one movie. Why not do something similar to Kizumonogatari.

It remains the question how big are these BD Volumes. It will be at least 10 Episodes. That's probably enough for 13-16, but what's with 7/8/10. Hopefully every volume contains 3 not only 2.
