The success of Steins;Gate (the game) is driven by having unique and good story for a visual novel. The most important will be the adaption of the story at least in my (critical) opinion.

Of course, willing to go against typical character designs of modern anime/gaming probably did help the success of the game. Of course one has to blind to say that being flashy and extravagantly cute are not deciding factors for series going super popular. I will be happy enough if Steins;Gate make a good adaption, and the folks behind make a reasonable amount of money.

Chris' hair color is brown in the game but changed to purple in the anime, maybe because they simplified the huke's character design.

If you check out the anime's website, it's actually a blood red now.

Quick question, do I need to see Chaos;Head first or should I be able to watch this anime on it's own? It sounds interesting but I'd hate for spring to roll around and be totally lost. XD

Same universe, different setting and characters. Sort of like Baccano and Durarara.

Indeed, looks miles better than Madhouse's Chaos Head. White Fox, Im proud.

And Kanako Itou doing the OP? Obligatory.

Actually, what I said wasn't comparing with Chaos Head. It was more against the character design by White Fox that was presented here. Colour palette was definitely better and character design was much faithful to original Huke design during its movement unlike what I thought initially.

C79 PV from their youtube channel. Looks really good, and yay for Itou Kanako OP. I really chuckled at the fact the ED will be by Chaos;Head's Phantasm, or was the band in the game as well?

Is this confirmed to have only 12/13 episodes?

Seems a bit short to make things right...
