This anime needs to be on every Biology class curriculum. I sure would have had a lot more fun learning and retaining that information back in my school days instead of trying to memorize everything.

That's not really indicator though. T killer cells are for example male in both works, so there is that.

Well, in BLACK the body produces sperm and had blood flow into the dick tissue to make it erect and then it got a genital disease due the sex, so pretty clear the BLACK "World" is a male body. So I just assumed the original one is a young female body, probably a teen.

It's perfectly possible you are right, but as you could see in this very episode even this body has both male and female red blood cells roughly equally, Paletes are also both boys and girls and whatever was these orange cells from control center they seemed to be fairly gender balanced too.

At this point only WBC, Macrophage and T-killer cells have clear majority of one gender. And as I said last one seems to be all male both here and in Black. So in the end you are basing your guess on WBC alone.

Did you learn that platelets are super duper cute? Because that's what I learned.
Oh, you mean the flu episode. I consider a cold and the flu to be distinctly different from each other so that's why I was a bit confused.

Also, I'm a biochemist and I'm looking to go more into microbiology, so I'm practically squeeing over this series.

Dude, it's explicitly identified as influenza in the ep.

As for the heat stroke episode, yeah that must have been a really severe case for the person to actually require an IV fluid supply. But then we're talking heat stroke, not heat exhaustion. First time this person's really came close to dying.

They never really expanded on the flu infection, if I recall correctly. We didn't get to see the cells fight off the flu.

We saw the white blood cells fighting and the T cell crushing them while the B cell made antibodies to annihilate the infection. Both infections were identified as strains of influenza. As in not colds. There is a significant difference in potential danger, which is why we only get yearly vaccinations for the flu, not the common cold.

Watched episode 11:

This episode made me remember lyrics from a song "it's getting hot in here, so take off all your clothes".

Anyway, heat stroke is scary... have been a victim of heat stroke myself... so I know how it feels.

Cute scene when Neutrophil onii-chan gave drink to the platelets that can't reach. And he really unleash his fury on that germ.

There's even a series going on of med school students watching this series and even they went on about details and how much information was in there. I'd have to agree this would indeed be rather useful in education. Just as long as the students don't mind blood everywhere, but then there's a lot of students in school who would pay even more attention for that.

If Cells at Work have Season 2 they.ve been adding the Plasmodium Entamoeba histolytica Leishmania and other Evil Microbes and Parasites of course if they.ll added the Ascaris lumbricoides when Eosinophil had her own Squadmates to dealt with.

no way... those are tropical diseases.. so Japanese don't get them that often

about Ep 11: we have seen how this body owner strives against cancer cell... however what nearly kills him/her is actually a heatstroke

Colds are usually a bacterial infection. Flu is viral. The influenza episode was the flu. It's right there in the name of the episode.

Considering around 21 people dead due to heatstroke in Japan last month, it's not that shocking.

No, a cold is the common cold, a viral infection. There are other infections you can get that show some similar symptoms but the viral disease called the common cold is, as the name implies, incredibly common. That said, it was specifically identified in the show as a form of influenza, not common cold.

In episode 1 (1:32), the body that you enter looks to be a stylized male body. Also, the background cells appear to be exclusively male.

Ok I stand corrected. But yeah it was still influenza.

Episode 12:

Wow, I thought this week would be fluffy as usual and the first half did suggest so with the lighthearted mood and comedy gags. That rookie cell seems more knowledgable than I was expecting.

The second half really caught me by surprise. What a catastrophe.

This seems to be most serious problem they ever faced so far. I'm shocked.
