Effects of the media & arts on society & censorship
How are the effects of media (Television, radio, internet etc, you get the idea.) and the arts on society's mentality and behaviour (as a general whole) being affected (In a good or bad way) by censorship?

Society means the population which is exposed to the media and arts, including kids etc. The behaviour of the society is how the society reacts to the media and arts, this can be put in general terms as well, you don't have to be too specific here and narrow down to a particular individual and his responses. Censorship here is what you find the the dictionary: To examine in order to suppress or delete anything considered objectionable Effect is the response of the society to the media & arts. |

This is still muddled. The title of the thread is a nightmare. Censorship affects the media. The affected media then makes some theoretical impact on its audience. A clearer form of this question would be "how does censorship shape the effect of media on its audience?"

I guess you could say censorship constrains the scope of the messages available to society by the media. So it's really just a matter of whether or not you believe in censorship and to what extent. Personally, I disagree with censorship. Tends to be taken to fairly ridiculous levels.
Seriously though, you are asking for homework help aren't you? |

Censorship is taking out things that a select few do not want most of society to see. Since most do not see what's being censored, they won't know that what they see is censored. (If they know something is censored and easily get their hands on the uncensored material, what's the point of censorship?) Since they don't know what they're seeing is censored, then they don't know that anything is being censored. Therefore to them nothing is censored. Therefore censorship has no effect on the media or society at large because they have no knowledge of the uncensored material.

If your 13 then you wouldn't be asking such a ludicrous question. Infact, you shouldn't even be involved in this forum (or any forum for that matter).
Shit when I was 13 all I did was complain about how much school annoyed me, and how my hot art teacher (mrs.kumz; rofl that was her name, im not even lying about that shit!) was the only reason I went to school. Oh, and I also liked to spit alot. |

The only debate that this thread seems to spark is a discussion about the meaning of it's title. Even if it wasn't just to get soemone's homework done (a dubious proposition at best) that fact should be enough to get it closed.
I'd suggest that next time anyone thinks of starting a thread they'll take this thread's fate as an object lesson. Please try to think of a simple and clear title. Then explain yourself in your first post. Otherwise it will just flounder around while people argue about what it actually means.
