Making them non-related, of course.
They give an impression that its normal to court your stepsister...

Okay, not my question anyway, but if you can court your stepsister, then why not your blood-related sister?

Kind of impossible, seeing how immense popular the imouto archetype is.

If you meant by generations by people who watch animes, maybe (which is debatable, seeing that there were more than enough examples of series who also had that theme much earlier and i don't think you can exactly call the last 3 years "the current generation") but if you meant by overall " new generation", i disagree because this trend in VN and LN started way before OreImo

It's still weird to me

As for Oreimo, it also had the whole 'Pretty girl is the otaku and she's kind of perverted' outlook, which I found refreshing compared to the usual 'OTAKU LOSER IZ THE MC' line that's found everywhere.

Also, Kureneko stole that series anyway.

I am pretty sure that even non-blood related siblings cannot legally get married with eachother in japan.

A little lesson I learned from a particular manga regarding Japanese law about (step) siblings marriage:

Then it's more likely the Forbidden Fruit factor. Sibling marriage is taboo in most if not all cultures, and as we (and Japan) see, the forbidden fruit is the sweetest.

The only thing I truly hate about anime, is how cheesy it can be.

It can even get to the point of me wanting to vomit. But I usually just facepalm fairly hard instead.

Agree there when I was attempting to watch yuri. It's too much for me too handle. It's not just too cheesy, it' so corny and so forced.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like romcoms have gotten more equal these days. Less nerds and hotties and more normal people. In fact I would almost say that character design lately has been more normal in general, which is strangely refreshing. Even as far back as shows like Oreimo and Angel Beats the character design was a lot more reserved. A nice step back from "EVERY CHARACTER NEEDS A WEIRD BUST SIZE! OH, AND PANTSU! OH OH OH! THE CAST NEEDS ALL THE COLORS OF THE RAINBOW IN HAIR COLORS!"

Dat Kuroneko. Also, desu.

Ugh. Bad humor ruins a series. I'm generally pretty open to anime comedy, and I really do enjoy Japanese humor. Sometimes those jokes are just so overused and so dry, though. For example, Hayate no Gotoku is an old-time favorite of mine but the most recent season I felt was really hit or miss on jokes. Chuunibyou for contrast I found the vast majority of the jokes and gags were hilarious, and the anime itself was presented with great humor.

Exactly. Drama can ruin an anime if implemented terribly. Like the "I'll never forgive you!" line. Easily the worst thing ever.

Please Japan, stop using it. It's terrible.

The Boob Groping

It's already an out break in this season. It's pointless fan service.

Is it necessary? No.
Is it related to plot? Duh?! No.
Is it amusing? I'm a pervert but it's a No too.
The point is? Pointless!

Watashi no koto ga Suki.

Are you in love with me or is it just you like me?
Which is it?
Is liking me enough so that we should start dating?
Start kissing?
Go to hotel?

The thing that bothers me the most is that damn near every anime these days takes place in some kind of school setting. Seriously, that's the most overdone/boring setting there is for an anime, and it's freaking everywhere.

There are far more irritating things in anime, but this one is near ubiquitous.

To be fair, even some salarymen watch those, if not lonely for the nostalgia of a time where the world appeared much simpler and wider. A time when we were almost adults without the burden of being one, where friendship of back then meant a bound lasting a lifetime.

Like others have said, age has little to nothing to do with it. Anime, like the vast majority of audio/visual media, is generally targeted at the average male viewer; independently of age.
