Romance with a awesome lead
Do you guys have suggestions for an anime or manga with absolutely any amount of romance. Preferably with a male/female lead character who kicks a$$.
Examples: Anime: -Midori Days -Gurren Laggan (Kamina still counts) -Gankatsuou (the romance here was between Albert and his fiance. the Count's awesomeness makes up for Albert's unawesomeness. So yea... the awesome character doesn't have to be the one who's actually in the relationship. Manga: -Ai Kora -Mx0 Thanks in advance. |

manga:
Kiseijuu - horror/action manga with some romance; protagonist becomes quite strong (fairly quickly) Angel Densetsu - unintentional ass-kicking on the part of the protagonist; his eventual girlfriend does some intentional ass-kicking as well Pretty Face - the "romance" aspect isn't really taken very seriously, but its a fun manga with an ass-kicking protagonist (think Seiji from Midori Days, but more extreme) Superior - a nice fantasy manga with a very powerful female protagonist |

Baccano!.
All uhh, (x-1) of the x or so of the main leads are awesome, with a good amount of the 20 or so side characters also quite awesome. The character that fits into [x - (x-1)] does show some awesomeness at some parts, but he's generally not so awesome. The romance isn't very central (at all), but it's noticeable. You could say that Lelouch of Code Geass is awesome, but I would disagree. Just like how I don't find either L or Raito-kun particularly awesome either, Lelouch is similar, though on a lower level of genius. And the romance is quite forced and less-than-romantic in Code Geass. And I found Lucy of Elfen Lied quite awesome as well. Both of the main female leads in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha are awesome too. You'll quickly catch on to the romance if you ehh... concentrate. |

LOL, never thought I'd see Elfen lied in here, the blood and gore would've cancelled out romance lovers in the beginning, but nonetheless, I found the ending to be sweet and the best romance scene ever. Elfen Lied has the best romance I have seen in Anime by far, especially if they make a second season to convey the KoutaxLucy couple...

Romeo & Juliet =P lol, if your not really a fan of the whole shakespare theme, should still give it a shot if your into the romance part, its really worth it, the story was amazing enough for a person like me, who knows nothing about shakespare to enjoy, the characters are very well done, and the lead, ....nuff' said

School Rumble has fantastic characters but a terrible plot (only because it goes nowhere). If you want awesome leads, I think that's worth checking out.
Clannad has great leads, but the romance aspect is a little bit muted. You're basically asking for good romance, since good romance will almost always have good lead characters. Some of the ones that immediately come to mind are Kare Kano, Bokura ga Ita and Nodame Cantabile, the last of which was anime-of-the-year last year, IMO.
