Dark Souls (PS360)

Yes it is the unofficial sequel to From Software's Demon's Souls and King's Field series. This time it will be available on both HD twins (PS3/360).
The game will be published by Namco Bandai in the west, for both consoles. In japan From Software will be publishing the game themselves, and only on PS3.

Official international HP|Japanese HP
Official Japanese blog
The blog is maintained by FromSoftware and lists incoming patches and server issues and so on. It is worth checking out. Pretty sure that NB has something similar for the international crowd that they will launch in the future.

No port begging please!

Well if you move to japan you can only get the PS3 version. Money talks, and dev/publishers are still crying that production costs for HD games are high. Making it multiplatform means more or less free money. Since namco bandai (publisher for the west) is involved, they probably need every penny they can get their fingers on, seeing how their so-called high profile are being ignored by most gamers.

Maybe something like in God Hand, the better you play the harder the AI gets.

Well should be interesting to see how much harder they can make it. Though it'll definitely be a rough ride. But still looking forward to it.

More info this time from famitsu's homepage. Anoop has provided a sumamry in english on his webpage, andriasang.com.
This time we don't need to wait too long for a localisation, N-B announced that we in the west will see a release in 2011. Then again if the asian version has englsh option in it, i will import it.

if this becomes an official sequel of demon's souls I wonder if we can transfer our save files from the first game that way we might have a slight advantage with our stuff carried over...

also, I expect to see the reaper in this game

edit: okay, forget what I just said. I don't see this happening at all.

God this looks freaking awesome. I know they're trying to keep that sense of isolation you get in Demon Souls but I honestly really fucking loved co-oping with my buddies back in Demon Souls. It was a pain in the ass too because we had to find each other's signatures and then use skype to chat. Let's hope they make it a bit easier this time.

Lmao, "take it and suffer the consequences"? From the few lines it sounds like FFVIII's Magic Lamp (used only once, don't get overconfident, etc.), probably summoning a big-ass monster that eats you before you can say "oh shi-!"

What the hell. I clicked around and it said that I failed and I'm locked out. They said that I can only retry again tomorrow. WOW. CHRIST. Did they have to go THAT far for even a bonus puzzle micro-game on their website!? Seriously prepare to die my friends.

I couldn't even figure out what the puzzle was and I already failed. Would you be so kind as to tell me what exactly I'm suppose to do or click?

October 11 Launch Date

A day later we get the launch date and it won't be affected by the PSN outage

Been watching the streams of the folks in Japan that bought from stores that broke street date, and damn it looks fantastic.
Dunno if there's a thief's ring equivalent in this game yet but enemy AI and mobs are relentless buggers that will run/crawl/climb ladders in order to get to you.

People that broke the street date are actuallu set up for an impossible challenge. It was quite funny the devs did that. "Piracy? Tsk tsk, here's what for".

A level 145 (max level) enemy with 1900 HP.

Oh, and I don't even know why people imported the game. Not even going to be a month until it's released in the US. In a language you can understand. In hindsight I think being unable to play online with other players in your region really dampens the fun.

Link to video: IGN Dark Souls gameplay

Which lead me to believe the gift you get from completing the ruins will be those equipment and gears on the front page of preparetodie.com and in the video.
10 bucks its highish level and the idiot in the gameplay video is using it without the strength requirement...

All the dialogue in the game is spoken english in the Japanese version and menus aren't that hard to figure out. Also, I don't recall any of the streamers I followed running into invading devs. Perhaps there were too many units that went out :V

I, for one, like the idea of being able to play with my buddies in Europe or asia. Segregating the game by region sucks, but what're you gonna do?
