Fuck no!

Even if this match hasn't exactly been the greatest... there's still so much more that could and needs to be done.

Yeah, well, I'll agree with that for now, but one more match like this and all the fans will flee in terror!

Haha! That would be great-- a real surprise. But I doubt it'll happen.

I'm curious to see what's screwed up with Woli's leg though. From what the coach said, it's not Ippo's punches, so it's probably the jumping. Ippo had to train to keep his legs from getting screwed up by the Dempsey roll--Woli's acrobatics probably put a similar strain on his legs or something. I want to see what exactly they'll say about it.

Well in his time in the jungle Woli jumps alot and I mean alot, but as we see there he takes a break to rest his legs and feet, unlike here he kept dodging and jumping, which probably gave him the cramps...or probably it's Ippo's soul really trying to break that leg of Woli.

I think it's more like this. In this fight, he did all those swaying, but his feet remained in pretty much the same place. That sort of move requires a lot of leg strength to maintain your balance. Like what kenjiharima said, his jumping in the jungle isn't on the same level, so it takes a lot out of him to do that footwork.

And his expert coyote trainer never realizes that the problem is his moves put much constraint to the muscles than normal? I can think of all the reasons that would justify Woli not knowing what the problem is, but not for the old wolf at the corner.

Woli didn't fight that many fights did he? Can someone confirm the length of those fights? I think this is the first one that drew out this long.

Woli's problem is his lack of experience and being pushed by Makunouchi relentless thrust forward leading to over-pace which results to build up of lactic acid within his muscles which ultimately leads to fatigue.
The only person that can understand the situation is himself and only when he had gone through that experience before.
It's like an overconfident runner running the 1000 meter sprint for the first time, 8 of 10 he'll overexert, run out of gas and not make it to the goal.

For more academic understanding;

Anaerobic exercise

Quote:
There are two types of anaerobic energy systems: 1) the high energy phosphates, ATP adenosine triphosphate and CP creatine phosphate and, 2) anaerobic glycolysis. The high energy phosphates are stored in very limited quantities within muscle cells. Anaerobic glycolysis exclusively uses glucose (and glycogen) as a fuel in the absence of oxygen or more specifically, when ATP is needed at rates that exceed those provided by aerobic metabolism; the consequence of rapid glucose breakdown is the formation of lactic acid (more appropriately, lactate at biological pH levels). Physical activities that last up to about thirty seconds rely primarily on the former, ATP-PC phosphagen, system. Beyond this time both aerobic and anaerobic glycolytic metabolic systems begin to predominate. The by-product of anaerobic glycolysis, lactate, has traditionally thought to be detrimental to muscle function. However, this appears likely only when lactate levels are very high. In reality, many changes occur within and around muscle cells during intense exercise that can lead to fatigue, with elevated lactate levels being only one (fatigue, that is muscular failure, is a complex subject).

Unbelievable. It's still not ending. WTH.

How can a hand traced in the body if Ippo's hands are wrapped with gloves. ~facepalm

Have we all forgotten Ippo's hillside-log-driving exercises? If Ippo could punch (hammer) a log into a hillside... Woli shouldn't even have any ribs left...
