And it ended, well it was fun for the most part I have to say, that added to the above-average animation, the fanservice and the characters made this quite enjoyable but only if we don't count the details of the story. The adaptation was quite nice too using 3 volumes + a bit of another one to finish the season, I'd say this was faithful to the LN for the most part.
Now obviously it falls under the same antics of Oreimo since is the same author where any development pushed to the other girls doesn't matter at all even if they are better than the obvious main one (like Elf) because in the end nobody stand a chance with the Masamune except Sagiri (not saying Sagiri is bad, actually she's quite nice). That being said EMS is much better than Oreimo on every single way, no questions about it. Overall fun series that reached nice ranks on SP and boosted the LN sells, not even close to be AOTS for the generic and painfully predictable nature of the story, also incredibly overated by the hardcore fans. Final score a 6.5/10, would watch a second season if the studio decides to make another one. |

The only thing oreno imouto is better than this is that kuroneko is there.
well I really enjoyed this serie, looking foward for a second season, for me murasama was best following elf, they're really close, just my taste I know here elf is best. |

This isn't going to win any writing awards, certainly not with Kado (at least first 6 episodes), Sagrada Reset, Re:creators, and most especially The Eccentric Family all airing in the same cour. Heck, even this last episode seems more like a side-story more than anything, with the main part of the story concluding last episode. Not even clever tie-ins like Maruto with Saekano or anything, but alas...
That said, I still enjoyed the heck out of this show. Sure, it's typical harem romcom, but I truly was looking forward to this every week. I think a BIG part of that was because SukaSuka is just downright depressing, and this one hit me in the 'right feels' to brighten up. Also helps that the MC knows his feelings down pat from the very beginning, which is refreshing to see. Sure am sad no comedy LN adaptations next cour, but in fall we have Imouto Sae Ireba Ii. I consider Haganai, Oregairu, and OreImo the major anime adaptations of high school 'harems' in this decade, and Imouto Sae Ireba Ii marks the last of the new works of the trio. And in all honesty, it's that story I think that has the most potential, as Girlish Number started pulling its punches halfway through, while this one is too far into fantasy territory for me take seriously (like c'mon, ALL the main characters are honest to goodness professionals authors/writers by their middle school years?). Imouto Sae Ireba Ii on the other hand has the MC actually in his 20's, with him developing obsession about imoutos because he doesn't have one to his knowledge, is stalked by an outrageously popular author who started writing because of him (think a more aggressive Muramasa but at least she started writing in high school), and he actually has an actual friend from school that plays a part in the story. Oddly enough, the new works of all three have imoutos as their 'main heroine'. Fushimi is a no brainer, and while I can see why Watari did it too (MC/Komachi might be a fluke but Qualidea Code pretty much proves he's a closet lover of imoutos lol), but I have no idea why Hirasaka did it as well. AFAIK s/he didn't even want to make Haganai have any romance at all, and the very next thing that is written is yet another one? Heck, all I remember of Kobato was being the plaything of Sena, so not sure how Hirasaka got to this. Even weirder is that all three set their setting about the industry itself. Did these three have some sort of RL 'tournament arc' battle with the industry as the setting and incest undertones as the plot, and these three stories are the end results of their original stories? Makes me wonder if these authors actually do stuff like the one that happened here in Eromanga. But yeah, I'm really digressing here, so I'mma stop now...

I really wish this show gave Muramasa more chance to shine....
She was my favorite character in this series but that interest died fast after her role was pretty much over. Also, I felt like the finale was pretty pointless. The plot didn't develop and went nowhere.

As endings come and go, that wasn't really much of an ending... through it was funny still, you can tell it's a show based on an ongoing narrative easily.
But anyway! Nice show. In a similar vein to Armed Girl's Machiavellism that also aired this session, it too was a 'trashy concept" but had some heart and soul in, then added a second element to show you the writers can do intelligent material at the same time. Basically: My (none blood related) little sister is a love interest! + characters I can care about + the publishing industry from the inside = Eromanga-sensei These hot girls want to fight me! + characters I can care about + fighting moves broken down and style differences = Armed Girl's Machiavellism Hopefully other shows will run with the same formula, since it clearly works! Overall a B+ from me, it didn't break new ground, but it was really well executed. Also Elf is best girl! |

that ending is really great especially when they dropped flag bomb from Tomoe
Everyone still stay true to their character... Megumin with her "playgirl" character, Yamada with her easygoing character, and Sagiri with her pervert character I laughed too much at doujinshi part... get the shape right! this is a great adaptation with good story I hope we get season 2 |

Episode 12:
Surpisingly nice final episode. Well, the perfect therapy to cure Sagiri, is simply to have some friends for her... what I mean is real friends like Elf and Senju... not the noisy crowd that Megumin brought into their house at an earlier episode. Overall score = 7.5/10

As expected, BD sales are not plenty for 2nd season...But recent trend is that DVD/BD sales are not relate to making next season, always.
IMO I think they are going to make 2nd season. (Wild intuition) At least, those reviews in Amazon prime video are good reputation. btw reviews of Amazon prime video of non anime watchers is interesting. like "wow, I didn't know that anime is such a novel culture" - from Monogatari series or "what a disgusting anime of pedophilic incest. But of course I watched to the end" - from Eromanga sensei" |
