For this recap, there are slightly different scenes and slightly different explanations. One I noticed, they didn't explain her home situation fully in the anime, but in the recap they showed it as an incomplete one bedroom apartment.

I heard Shinobu in the drama CD is using original settings that's unrelated to the novel or the anime, so she might sound different when she speaks in the real episode. I think Kiddy Grade's Lumière voice should be a good match for Shinobu's character.

You're correct for Bakemonogatari's case. The drama CD was dubbed along with the first episode and took over 7 hours for that. Kamiya Hiroshi said in Atogatari that "it was hell." (Kind of strange to hear Chiwa Saito calls Kamiya "Kamiya-san" instead of "Kamiya-nii")

While I think the recap is done to buy production staffs some more time, the second fastest broadcast station MBS being two weeks late due to 2009 World Championships in Athletics broadcast is more of an issue (after BS-Japan satellite broadcast!). That kind of explains why MBS is not airing Bakemonogatari SP but will broadcast episode 6 tonight.

What's wrong with a recap episode if we're still going to have a regular episode in the same week? Doesn't that just mean that we have a double helping of Bakemonogatari this week? I dunno about you guys, but I'm up for that. XD

Instead, it will be the summer holidays next week.

I watched recap episode and felt again that BGM was excellent.
BGM like the theme of Suspiria is especially my favorite.
When is a sound track released?

And I have noticed that Drama CD has only 99 tracks. The 100th track is where?
Maybe, it will be based on restriction of CD standard.
Or if I can listen to the 100th track, do oddities appear?

One of the tracks has 2 stories, so it adds up to 100.

Spoiler for ep 6:

It's nice to see they're going back to near episode 1's quality. The action part at the end of this episode is nicely done, although short. The pacing and atmosphere are much better than all previous episodes. I'm pretty much pleased with the visual aspect…

…but over 70% of dialogue with Hachikuji and Suruga were cut. They used up to Part 4 (out of 9) of the novel in one episode, and they will probably cut out Senjougahara's service from the next episode too. Ugh. Still, a very good episode. I don't know what to feel about this.

Halp, they're cutting away all the good bits. And managed to end the episode just before the best scene in the book. Will they show it next week? Please, please, please...

At least that scene is nicely done. And then they cut it off for commercials (oh god, timing).

Is the phone call even comprehensible in the anime? They basically cut out his entire side of that conversation, and while I guess you still get the important bits, it felt pretty long and boring to listen to as a monologue.

Not happy with the way they made the envelope scene appear so "conveniently", since one of the best things about the novels is how things happen in a proper timeline and cause consequences later on. In the anime it just feels like a sudden excuse.

They've also cut out everything about his precious bike, which was one of my favourite parts. And the brick wall. What's with all these rails?

Guys... they only have 15 episodes. Some things are going to be cut.

...This is starting to remind me of Toradora, where they cut out three-quarters of the novel's content and it still ended up fantastic.

Also, that show had no budget either.

We need to get the novels translated...
