Thanks for the numbers. If we assume that Index will go to at least volume 30, it should be able to pass Slayers and Orphen in life times sales, since wikipedia says they are complete.

Edit: I also think it is amazing that in one year, has almost doubled its lifetime sales.

well give slayers some credit is a 15 years old series with just 15 novels, that would probably be half of what index is aiming.

Original had 15. If you add the prequels and spin-offs, there's around 50 of them.

Slayers is still a legendary but that total sales is with the tons of spin off and prequel of it. I hope that one is also translated in english or for sale in english. I might collect it if possible. Full metal panic and orphen is also my favorites but don't have access on it.

Wait till it reach vol 22. I bet vol 22 would sale better than vol 21 if it's the arc finally for this. And come on who doesn't want to see Touma kicking as* of Fianmma I sure love to see it

I believe "Astral in Hand" has the ability to manipulate the entire Earth, so it's not just limited to destroying it by stopping the rotation or making stars/the sun disappear.

Speak about Fiamma, Though it's sure that this arc is going to end in vol.22
I'm not sure if he'll really get defeated next Voume.
He's now owning the last boss position for Magic side(while Aiwass is Science side's both of them at least for now)
He's so invincible that he'll get down that quickly and easily.
And don't forget that their is a scene where the pope try to find a way to stop him in the old documents.


There is only two things i'm sure.
1.Touma will get his arse kicked is the first match which is going to begin.
It's really a simple logic, the fight will start at the beginning of next volume if Fiamma goes down easily then it's quite anti-climax.
There will be some kind of rematch for them which is the climax for next volume.
2.No matters he can win or not I think Touma will at least destroy the John's pen remote control which is his first priority objectives(When these two are going to crash each others on Bethlehem Touma thinks of nothing than to destroy that remote).

Remember "who" is heading to Russia with "Red Wings"(also I remember she muttered incomprehensible words, was that angelic gibberish??).
If the remote control is destroyed Index will be free, but Touma will be screwed for sure, making the heroic last move to destroy that artefact.
If there is a chance Index arrives in time before Touma gets kidnapped(if Fiamma wants him at least Touma should be alive) with the Pope help there is a little chance to defeat Fiamma.

well magic is interesting specially if it's action pack fantasy. That's my favorite so I can't blame it if theirs similarities.
