I love how variable a range is. One day you can hit the note the next you can't and vice versa. Here are the songs I like to practice to: For warmup, I like "Provincial Life" from Beauty and the Beast. For upper range workout, I use the solo intro to "Laudate Dominum" by Mozart and "Daughters of Triton" from The Little Mermaid. For my lower range, I use "Friends in Low Places" by Garth Brooks (I don't care for country but it really does work for practice).
I also like how I become a baritone/bass when I'm sick:) I can do some interesting things then.. |

I'm well aware that you can increase your range through practice, but it's ignorant to be unaware of physiological limits as well. Range is important for personal development as a singer, but I think the new rule isn't worth thinking about to that extent for an unofficial karaoke competition that encourages enjoyment . In my opinion, being able to sing the song you want at the pitch you can execute it most musically is wonderful. Ack... i hope none of this sounds offensive... sorry *scratch scratch...

Can't believe people are practicing already.
I have so many ideas that I want to implement with schadowfox (if I can catch him). As for the comments, they should be up hopefully by the end of the month or so. I guess that's what I would call wishful thinking? Anyway-- hope to hear you guys soon~

Yo !!!!
Hello out there,
I know I've went missing for quite some time and hell yes I'm back! Though not how I would like to be but for now I'm here and thats the important thing. As for the comments I will re-write some of the codebase and put an special-pages link into the menu where the comments will be stored. I hope you can forgive me for not saying anything and of course the short downtime of the website :-) Regards, schadowfox.

If any of you plan on going to ACEN this year, this may be of interest to you.
http://panelprogramming.com/acenidol.aspx Click on "Guidelines and Rules" to learn how to audition for Acen Idol. Click on "Contestant Profiles" to see and hear people that have submitted auditions so far. I'm in there too. I'm Sean Chen, if you're curious. |
