When you're retiming, none of the time-related variables will be correct any longer, that includes $send and other variations. (Reason: The variables' values are relative to the original line start, which is no longer the actual line start.) Rather than \t(0,0,whatever) you can just use \t(whatever), I prefer doing that to make reading it easier. I would make two lines of it instead of just one. The first line is a statically positioned one, where the syllable rests until it should fade out, and the other the actual fadeout. !retime("syl2end",0,-400+($si-1)*50)!{\an5\be1\pos($scenter,$smiddle)} !retime("postline", -400+($si-1)*50, -100+($si-1)*50)!{\fry0 \t(\fry90\alpha&HFF&) \an5\be1\pos($scenter,$smiddle)}

SSA Tags - karaoke {/kf}
Hey, I wondered if you guys could help me with SSA karaoke structure. I just wanted to do the karaoke of Toradora OP (Coalguys) and wondered how would I apply the Karaoke style to the {\kf} tags?

Thanks for the time! Peace. P.S. -> I have read the SSA manual, does not give me an answer... |

I think there's a thread that deals with karaoke effect questions:

Please, Please learn who to type... I had pain reading that request.
You want the effects or you want to learn. Your not getting the first. And we need to see what you know before giving you some tips. How do think in plain English a break-away karaoke would be done. Shapes moving at varying speeds in random directions. It is rather quite simple if you build up from basic knowledge. Advance Karaoke is pretty much basic techniques mixed and matched and piled one on top of the others.

I have a question about something a bit more basic
some karaoke fill animation changes the colour of both body and border of the words as the animation sweeps from left to right can you do that with the ASS/SSA format? eg. light coloured text \kf fills into dark coloured text if I choose a dark border, the contrast is bad after the word is sung if I choose a light border the contrast is bad before the word is sung ideally you would want a different border colour before and after the \kf fill animation |

I hope this is the right place, as I've already made one mistake, I don't like stepping on toes or giving moderators work xD
I've been learning Aegisub since the 14th, and things have been going pretty well. Karaoke is a lot of fun to make, and grasping it's syntax was really easy. However I hit an issue with it. For example, using a fontsize increase, then having it go back to it's original side makes the entire line bounce when the syllable increases, rather than just that syllable. I noticed that if I put the text at the bottom then use margin to put it up top I could minimize how much the line bounces around, but it still does it very slightly. Basically, is there anyway that I can have only the current syllable increase upward, and the rest of the line stay in that exact vertical position (obviously it will need to expand horizontally). Thanks in advance for any help! |

Do note that this thread itself is older than Aegisub, I think you need to go to at least page 16 before you'll find anything that even mention Aegisub
I think you'll learn more by reading the Aegisub forums at http://forum.aegisub.net/.
