You'd think that if it would be dubbed, they would have said something.
None of NISA's releases have been dubbed, and there's no reason to spend that money on a known flop. Hehe, even though the anime was indeed terrible, and I don't have a Blu-Ray player, I'm planning on giving them my money anyway.

Fuuuuuck these prices.
I'm sorry but over a hundred dollars for a 26 episode series is ridiculous. I no longer plan on purchasing either volume (Why is it split over 2 volumes to begin with?). |

PC can if you have a blu-ray drive.
PS3 plays Blu-Ray, so if you're planning on supporting a possible release of the PS3 games, you shouldn't have problems with the anime ;-) Apparently the split is also really strange: Disc 1 = Legend - Banquet, Disc 2 = Alliance. And Banquet is only one episode less than Alliance anyway, so I don't see the point splitting it up like that due to Alliance being the longest arc...

I don't own a PS3 XD , However I will buy one if Umineko gets ENGLISH port. Oh and Turns out my comp DOES have a BD rom drive, So that means I can play the disc correct? I'll save the money for it, PLus I'm intrested in how well are they gonna translate it. I hope they remove all the honorifics, In Japanese it sounds great but in English....>< It's just annoying when I see it

I would imagine it's a difficult decision to make on the translator's end. They don't translate well into English, so you either keep them as is and hope that the audience will understand, or get rid of them completely but risk losing meaning.
On that subject, I noticed a lot of times the English dub won't have them, but the subtitles on the same exact product will. My guess is that NIS will keep them for this sub-only release.

Yeah , I just finished Watching Dub of High school of the dead and they changed a lotttt, and the offical subtitles were true to Jap. They removed all the honorifics , Sometimes changed whole sentances...It may sound Horrible but I didn't hate it lol. It was nice, They changed it but still kept the meaning. On Umineko, I hate everytime narration has Ange saying Onichan, So weird in eng, It would work good too if it was Just 'Battler' or 'Brother'. As for Obasan , I would suggest to make cousings call them by their names ,except Maria. Kuns and Sans can be removed easly. |

Yeah, even though I did say something different, I have also seen subs which do just that. They completely remove the honorifics, and everytime someone said Onii-san, the subtitles just showed up with the person they were referring too.
I have seen it both ways, and it is all up to the translators to decide.
