I have a theory on that...but then again my theories usually turn out to be insane and/or illogical, so maybe I'm not the best person to listen to. However, all my theories in the manga before this have been true, so I'll take a chance on telling you what I think:

But, who knows. That's just my two cents! |

Well not sure why, but felt it was a good time to go and re-watch the anime. Which then reminded me that I never read the manga since things were so busy. Even though this is in the retired section and who knows if anyone will ever actually come in here, still have to put my thoughts down. Have to say I prefer the ending here even though it was still sad.

I just finished the manga.
That was some touching-stuff.I cried alittle at the end,it was really bittersweet. For one,I really enjoyed this series.Great characters/villians,plot and art. And I love Rosette. It's very rare that I ever find a female character I like [they're either too tomboyish or their dansel in distresses] but Rosette was right in the middle. She's a very strong girl indeed ^__^ And her relationship with Chrno and the others are very sweet and solid. I shall put this in my list of one of my most fav manga series :] |

Wow, didn't know there was an epilogue chapter until now. I think Chrno is still alive at the end. Who else could place the flowers at Rosette's grave every year since she died? One explanation why it took him so long to get back to her may have to do with the belief that he was executed by the order. He could have faked his death and was in hiding. Also something major had to have happened, because his horns were gone again, might explain why he still looks so beat up, with no contract he must have been healing really slowly. He could have ripped off his own horns to further make it look like he had died before going into hiding. It'd be cool if Stella got her own spinoff, maybe concerning her and her sister.
