I honestly have no idea what Nanoha's name means. I've looked for it, but all of the websites I check don't have her name listed anywhere.

Nanoha is a very unique name, apparently. Search ANN's data base for 'Nanoha' and you'll only get results related to the show. I've only ever encountered one other character by that name in a short little shoujo manga.

Closet thing I know is 'Nanohana' which means rape blossom.

Nanoha is in hirigana because its a Japanese name. Katakana is used for foreign words.

I'd say they just made it up. But if you want to give it something, make it a car.

Hana means flower. the word in front of it tells what kind of flower, so its a Nano flower which does the whole blossom rape thing. Relating it to Nanoha's name wouldn't be relevant, though........unless it was a pun, which makes perfect sense. O.<

Hmmm.... for me... it honestly depends on what kind of mood I'm in. The mood I'm in, or my mindset, usually sets the tone for whatever it is I'm writing at the time. Nanoha’s eyes eased themselves open to slowly look at the clock on her nightstand. She gave a low guttural groan and rubbed her eyes in annoyance after reading “3:27” on the old clock. She popped her neck and breathed in deeply while shifting to lie on her back and stare at the dark ceiling.

‘Hour and a half,’ she calculated in her mind until the alarm would ring for the blond woman sleeping soundly next to her. She took a few calming deep breaths while trying to ease her mind back into unconsciousness.

“You know I hate it when you do that,” a low woman’s voice cracked in the darkness.

“Sorry,” Nanoha rasped and cleared her throat.

“What time is it?” Fate muttered while sitting up and looking at the clock.

“3:30, baby,” yawned the brunette as she rolled onto her side facing the blond.

“Uuuug,” the woman in the black nightie groaned and fell back onto her pillow in frustration.

“Think you can sleep for another hour?” Nanoha asked apologetically.

“I’m going to have to try!” Fate’s words came out a little sharper than intended as Nanoha listened to her pop her back.

“Sorry, Ms. Crankypants,” the brunette whispered while scooting over next to the warm body. Her face nuzzled Fate’s shoulder and kissed her neck.

“I can smell your breath from here,” Fate giggled.

“I was about to say the same thing,” Nanoha answered and pushed herself closer to the warm body, “Maybe garlic bread wasn’t the best choice for last night.”

Fate laughed and hugged the woman next her sleepily, “You can’t help it that I make it better than a box. Oh well, a girl can do worse.”

Nanoha smiled as she felt the pair of soft lips brush lightly against hers, “You know, if we aren’t going to be sleeping for a little bit-“

Her voice trailed as her hand ran gently across the blond’s abdomen.

“No,” Fate grunted and rolled over to face the wall.

“Why are you so damn grouchy tonight, “ the brunette moped and pressed herself against Fate’s back. She knew Fate wanted to. “You need to relax.”

“Not tonight,” Fate mumbled defensively.

“Come on, babe.”

Fate could feel Nanoha’s predatory grin against the exposed skin of her back.

“You really aren’t going to want to,” Fate gasped as a cold hand slid up her chest.

“How can I not want to with you around,” Nanoha answered seductively as she nibbled on the blond’s earlobe.

“I’m warning you,” Fate moaned as she felt the hand move from her breasts down to the elastic band on her black cotton panties.

“Just relax,” Nanoha cooed as she moved her hand lower while kissing the woman’s neck, “Let me-“

“You could have just told me rather than making it such a mystery!” Nanoha frowned as she felt a bulky outline on the front of the panties, "The cotton should have been my first clue."

“Sorry,” Fate chuckled, “Started this afternoon.”

“Explains the cranky-“ A plump pillow to the face interrupted her as the blond rolled onto her back and closed her eyes.

Nanoha scowled in the darkness staring at the clock and realizing that she would have to “fly solo” for four more days.
