Hardcover is $15 MSRP, softcover is $9 MSRP. The manga are $11 MSRP. You can easily get them at a good discount at various places, such as rightstuf. |

The First Ever English Light Novel Best Seller List has been created.
And Haruhi is doing quite well. Really well actually. lol http://ranobecafe.wordpress.com/2009...ing-sept-2009/ |

...As a Shana fan, I'm quite disappointed... Man, Shana isn't selling well. Oh well... Nice to see Haruhi dominating this section, and even beating out most of what Vampire Hunter D is offering up. However, as opposed to ratings, I'd be more interested in seeing absolute sales figures (i.e. how many copies of the light novel have been sold).

Triple, actual sales data is only given to the Publisher, and its not usually given to the public sadly.
Also, don't feel terribly sad about Shana. Remember that its in the TOP 25 (out of A HUGE PILE of Light Novels that got released here). So it's actually somewhat good. It beat a lot of other light novels, I mean, a HUGE AMMOUNT. lol |

Wow... now that's an accomplishment! This could be great news for light novels, yeah. I'm very enthused about this... I think that light novels are a good way to get people into books who are frightened off by the sheer volume of, say, your typical Harry Potter book. Quote:
The Haruhi novels read like school-based sci-fi for kids and teens. It really does! I get nostalgic over novels I read in school a decade and a half ago, almost every time I read some of the Haruhi novels on-line. Haruhi anime fans that are... 1) Interested in reading the source material 2) Willing to fork out cash to do it/own it ...would pick it up anyway. Even if adult Haruhi fans feel a bit strange going into the teenager section to get it, they'll do it - or maybe get a younger relative to do it for them, lol. By putting it in the teen section, it's been put in the section for the demographic that I'm pretty sure will appreciate it the most.

Haruhi's hardcover is at #2. The hardcover was stocked in the Manga section. The softcover which is at #4 was stocked in the teen section. Still excellent. But I think it proved that Haruhi has a huge fanbase, AND, it's got a growing new one on the way. lol Well, maybe it didn't prove the latter, but we can always hope, ne? If anything, it proves that releasing a manga cover version and a normal mass product cover version was a successful idea. |

Yellow journalism at its finest! Wow, so a book that's been out since April has more sales than a book that technically doesn't come out until next week. 5 months worth of sales versus negative 8 days. As I said before, that blogger leaves out a LOT of necessary information. |
