She is currently not on the island, needs to be rescued, her story-arc isn't completed yet and the Sieben shows up upgraded in both the opening and ending sequences.

The chance of Maya dying are 0.

Episode 23. Oh well, I guess I almost got an heart attack......
First off, the new Salvatore Model is officially named Mark Raison. It's shown on the IFF Radar late in the episode.

Spoiler:

Kurusu is still afraid of dogs while Kouyo and Orihime make fun of him.
Maya boarded Raison for a while, and she endured the assimilation process for now, even given a new dress for her. Lol.
Jonathan is still being converted by the Mir but at least he retains some of his sanity. For now. (And for anyting, Ai is preserved in a crystal.)
The one-eyed general called Mizoguchi for his plan of killing Hester. About time. Soushi then travels with Nicht to the New UN for the deal.
We also got to see some of Hester's past.

And then the second half.

Mizoguchi arrives at the base and get to meet with Hester, explaining the modified Nicht. Then Maya and Hiroto's remains are given back.
And did I mention the assassination plan earlier? Turned out the General's partner is also a Puppet and got his personality erased, and the general (back in his room) is stormed by New UN soldiers. Guess what's next.
But then Crawler arrives and wreck havoc as well, forcing Soushi to interfere, and Jonathan gets Raison as Maya leaves with Sieben.
And then we got to the most heartgutting part......

Argos Platoon chases Maya in the back, and Maya finally snaps and, after a tight dogfight, KILLS Dustin. He deserved it though. Another pilot also bites it, and Keith's Fafner got heavily damaged and dropped into the sea.
Note that Maya makes the best use of attached cables on Sieben at most of the time. You the girl.

Hester obviously try to prepare nukes for Crawler on her submarine, but then Maya dives underwater, saying that she has become a murderer like everyone else, threatening Hester to lift Combat Regulation Alpha BY FUCKING STARTING THE FERNIR COUNTDOWN ON SIEBEN.
At least Hester isn't stupid and calls off the regulation for now so Maya doesn't blow herself up when something like 0.011 seconds remains. Soushi is obviously terrified in the whole process.

Also Raison when linking up with Vargant IS A FUCKING PWNZ0R WITH ITS "SATELLITE CANNON" WHICH DEFEATS CRAWLER WITH BASICALLY ONE SHOT. And Vargant absorbs the Crawler THROUGH A WORM HOLE WTF.
The Tatsuyajima crew then leaves, and Jonathan holds back saying he's still unable to hate them, but the Mir interferes and his last line states to kill them all when they meet next time......

(Un)fortunately, next episode is also a full-red. Guess they're stacking up all the lunchboxes at once......
And the staff is said to announce something big. Not at this moment though.

Maya was insanely awesome this ep, watching her bury that UN asshole and avenge Hiroto was damn satisfying. Though the satisfaction became worry when she attached herself to Hester sub and activated Fenrir, though fortunately she got saved at the last 0.11 second.

I almost skipped a beat, no joke.

LOL That was golden when that NUN Human Army girl called Maya a murderer. Not like she didn't kill thousands of innocent civilians or anything...

Also, LOL as Hester is, of course, from the United States with the flag on the wall in her office.

Otherwise, a pretty good episode. No one from the island died, so that was a positive. The only significant deaths were from some Human Army scum pilots and possibly Jonathan being loss to the Mir, at least mentally.

Actually the Right of Left(OVA) should be watched before the 1st season.

This can be skipped at first since it contains lots of terms from the main series, but if you start from scratch it's not a bad one.

Vagrant uses its ability to call out Walker and assimilate it. Even before the OP. Now that's one hell pwnz0r Festum.
The main crew finally found the third Alvis and prepares to occupy it for the exodus crew, and as preparation of a big battle, Zero Fafner is released as spearhead again. And before taking off, almost everyone raised their flags......
What happens is that Vagrant released Walker to stop them, and Sui tries to catch the core as usual, with Rina enhances Zero Fafner's main gun and fire at it......VAGRANT USES WORMHOLE TO ABSORB IT AND SHOOT IT BACK WTF!?!?!?!?
(And for that, Yuuki Kaji's legend of getting his arm severed continues. Lol.)

And then B Part for it.

Kurusu, obviously, put Dreizehn into good use and wreck Diablo-types like nothing. Others aren't that lucky though, Sakura's Drei got taken out and being assimilated, though its cockpit was released and Kenji grabbed it on time.
Sui and Rina/Akira plays a catchball with Vagrant by GRABBING ZERO FAFNER'S FUCKING LASER BEAM and release from an unprotected angle, destroying Walker's core for good, but his body becomes so heavy that Amaterasu crashlanded.
Others are being attacked by controlled Troopers, Drei, TSUKUYOMI, and later even ACHT. Fuck those fly-like assimilating assholes.
Also Vagrant tries to absorb exodus crew's cre directly by another pillar so hard that nothing penetrates it. Emily and her servants tried very hard to keep that out but they're losing.

Then there comes the important part.

Yeah, Kazuki awakes. But not before seeing Canon and Shuoko at the Urud's Fountain and accepts to be "blessed" by the island's Mir. In other words, he's not human now.
(As a sidenote, Shuoko was supposed to speak a few lines here. Why Miyu Matsuki has to be gone so early?)
Sein returns and plays its "Shiny" trick at Episode 9 and saves everyone on the ground. Mimika even got her body back. Kazuki, you're now a god.
He then cracks open the pillar by one shot before Zero Fafner (holding it up all the time) destroys it. And Emily seems to be fine for now.

And finally......

AKIRA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, today's episode, in the Kanon, Shouko and Kazuki's scene, looks like there were Shouko's lines and they changed them to Kanon's because....you know.

This show does lot of things well, and one of them is developing each characters. It doesn't forget about them either once they focus on them for a bit.

So far I am worried about Sakura, hope she is fine and at least Mimika is back so that is a plus.
