Well I was kind of hoping we'd skip looking at the first few arcs of Gou from the other side. There's not much to actually learn from them. Satoko used the vials she attained to drive people crazy in order to psychologically destroy Rika. I suppose they couldn't outright skip them.

Guess the only hope is that they won't drag these out. Let's get to actually taking on the villain of this story. Either way though it was a good move to have a season gap between Gou and this. Already spent a lot of time on Satoko's warped backstory and moving right into her enacting her plan would have been exhausting. The break should allow for some recharge so it's possible to get through her plan kicking into gear.

Its Watadamashi that I really don't understand, even if I doubt its a particularly relevant arc in the grand scheme of things.

Spoiler: Rika acts a bit more like she's been through this same exact scenario before. But the way it frames Satoko makes it look like she might have been having second thoughts about her master plan. If I were to wager a guess, I wonder if she might have felt like stopping, but Eua (somehow?) put a stop to that (There's a hint in the anime to this effect. (Listen carefully to the scene were Teppei? attacks Keiichi.)) and basically forced Satoko's hand (Hence why Nekodamashi is as brutal as it is.) Bonus: In the Watadamashi manga, Keiichi never breaks down the barred cell.
