As an American, I'd say I was insulted...but then again the gun-people ratio is pretty high....although I dislike guns and prefer swords or fists.

Which is my point- For the longest time now we act like all they needed was a gun but that's not true as Touma is more than experience dealing with firearms, he just switches tactics that's all.

Now why wasn't he targeted first for such a thing to happen?
Is it by chance a magic spell that targets the subordinates and works its way up the chain of command?

That's cheap: Cinderella pwns everyone except Birdway/Bardway/whatever.... kinda makes it useless she brought them along.

Question: WW3 ended in october 30. Then:
1. When Touma comes back to Academic City?
2. When Touma and company arrive in Hawaii?

I need to understand this storyline. Oh, by the way, they created this volcanic eruption to get Gungnir's Fragment or they wanted another thing?

And the question I really want answered: The magicians can use spells using other stories as a base for magic? I really didn't think they could only use culture and religion as a base but they only used something based in legends till now.

I think magic can be based on anything. At first, we we're introduced concepts that are attached on religious concepts, but it is not impossible for magicians to base their magic on something else.

In case people haven't realized it- Every culture and religion is base on stories, myth and folklore so is it really any surprise for them to use a timeless classics like the Grimm's fairy tales

Hmmm, distraction might be a better word then. Note that Cinderella was preoccupied by Touma/Mikoto so that Birdway could 'sneak up' with an oil truck from above.

I'm certain outside of this incident, Gremlin would be more focus on Touma allowing Birdway to move about relatively easily.

A regular guy with martial arts would be enough.

Honestly speaking Touma's worst match up would probably be Shiage, he doesn't rely in mojo at all, and is good at improvising weapons and tactics. Furthermore he usually doesn't stop to anything in order to win (though, in a "hero" / "good" sense).

Of course, that's "the new Shiage", when he first appeared the novel went out of it's way and mentioned us that he wasn't "much of a man" then
