A series about cute girls doing cool ninja stuff. The whole "don't interact/be careful around men" when there seem to be a ninja village full of girls and women and another with boys and men makes me wonder if this is a rule to prevent the girls (and boys) from wasting their time with love or an actual warning considering the time period they are in.
Maybe a bit of both. In any case, Tsubaki is already a lost cause. Has no idea what a man looks like but is already burning out of curiosity to find it out. XD With those two kouhais though she has her work cut out as team dog leader. Seems like teams are always a mix of older and younger girls with the elder ones teaching the younger ones in their free time. We also got other teams like team monkey that seems to be the medic team. All the girls look very different from one another though they all, safe Tsubaki, seems to share a dislike for men and looking down on them and their smelly feet and ofc their weak spot, the crotch. xD With fire breathing, incredible long jumps and transformation jutsu we got the full Naruto package but way cuter, so I'm in. Also seems like Yamamoto-sensei got a real talent to get his series on TV. 3rd one that got animated with Soredemo Ayumu Wa Yosetekuru waiting around the corner. His work must be quite popular in Japan to get so frequent anime releases.

One thing I don’t get. Why the heck does Tsubaki have any interest in men at all? Like, romantic/sexual interest? It sounds like none of these girls know anything at all about men, so how would she come to view this complete unknown with such longing?

Guys, I think the author might be a lolicon...
It's the first time I've seen this many lolis in a single anime. I believe there are over thirty of them. Maybe hearing that man's voice stirred things up inside her? That's the only explanation I've got. I'd understand her being very curious, but completely losing her composure every time men are brought up is just plain weird.

It's not something that romantic, it looks that way but it just she gets exicted on the prospect of men and want to meet one. She will tone down her excitement and this will be cute girls doing ninja shennaningas. |

That was alright. Though I do wonder if they can really stretch this out enough. Doesn't seem likely that she's ever going to do than vaguely hear a guy while also spending the entire season obsessing over something she's never seen.
Considering the supernatural abilities at play I suppose it's fine that Tsubaki's character motivation is a bit unbelievable. It basically requires her to instinctively be seeking out guys. Because there's no good reason she'd be that obsessed. I guess you could say she's got a fetish for big, dumb, and powerful things. That's probably the most believable way to look at it. Good looking show. Cloverworks is doing their thing. Not sure the story will give them much to work with. And part of me thinks this would be way better as a short. Tsubaki's obsession might be better in very small bursts.

Felt a bit like watching an episode of Naruto. If Naruto were full of half-naked lolis. Not much focus on men this time, instead we were introduced to the friendly rival Benisumomo, who pretends to be a natural genius but is actually a hard worker. Sazanka and Asagao's antics were pretty funny too.

I wish they'd write her name Sasanqua, just saying. They're calling her by the name of the flower, so they should write the flower's name the way it's actually spelled.
Separately, I really liked what they did with Benisumomo. Setting up a character who everyone sees as lazy, riding on her natural talent, but who really just doesn't want anyone to know how she works herself harder than almost anyone is rather interesting. Can't help but wonder what it'd look like if Touwata one night went out for some reason and just accidentally witnessed her secret training. I imagine she'd kind of worship her for her constant efforts, even if she might dislike how she felt effort to be "embarrassing". |

Interesting that they only showed Team Sheep at the ED there, maybe they gonna do that for every team that gets featured in an episode like Team Rat and Team Monkey?
So Benisumomo is the friendly rival of Tsubaki-chan and they are pretty even in power with Tsubaki being the only Ninja girl who knows of Beni's secret of being a hard worker to keep her cover as a "genius" up. In a way didn't Team Dog lost since they only captured one from Team Sheep but Team Sheep caught two from Team Dog? XD Tsubaki really got her work cut out as leader with a gluttony girl and a fan girl, she might wanna be more strict with them in the future else they just gonna ride her tailcoat all the time.^^

I kind of doubt that's how they measure win and loss. I mean, that's hardly realistic. Unless a side surrenders or gets completely wiped out, it's not a secure win in real life. Imagine saying "we won" but leaving the strongest guy in the party free, a guy that only one of your party stands a chance to face and that one's declared a ceasefire.

episode 1:
so this is basically, cute girls doing ninja things. Now, is ninja anime I could enjoy to watch. I find it weird that they seem to have never seen a man? These girls don't have a father? manga readers don't spoil me. lol

All it takes is to move them away from contact of men, and locate them in a remote region, while they are babies. Considering they don't even talk about mother's, seem to suggest that the Kunoichi institute is more like an orphanage.
