The Modern Warfare series thus far has had a bunch of great voice actors, but my favorites include:

Craig Fairbrass (Gaz/Ghost)
Kevin McKidd (Soap - I get a kick out of the Scottish accent every time)
Billy Murray (Price - His dialogue becomes really evocative during MW2's events)
Barry Pepper (Dunn - But it's hard for me to recognize him as Pvt. Jackson from "Saving Private Ryan" without the southern accent)
Keith David (Foley - "Ramirez!")
Glenn Morshower (Overlord)
Lance Henriksen (Shepherd)

And of course, Zach Hanks, who played the God-like MacMillan...It's a shame some of these MacMillan lines didn't get used in the game...

Everytime one of those characters talked I was reminded of the US Navy Commercials and Aaron Pierce, the immortal secret service agent of 24, respectively. I don't typically pay attention to the voice acting in shooters but I agree that this game's is particularly high quality.

Incidentally the worst voice-acting I ever heard surely belongs to Grandia Xtreme. I could feel my eardrums cringing just listening to it.

Cam Clarke - Kratos Aurion (Fits perfectly)
Erin Fitzgerald - Alkaid (...Dude, </3)
Johnny Yong Bosch - Guy Cecil ("That proves the planet memory ISN'T absolute!" being my favorite 'intense' line of Guy's.)
Karen Strassman - Misha Arsellec Lune (...She was great. 'Nough said.)
Crispin Freeman - Albedo (Same as Roloko. Freeman completely pegged Albedo's laugh.)
Susan Dailie - Naoto Shirogane (...She did a good job with Naoto, It's pretty remarkable how well she pegged Nao's androgynous. From boy voice to.. well.. squeaky x3)
Michelle Ruff - Rita Mordio (...She did very good work. I'm actually a fan of her roles because she usually gets the spunky or the tomboys )
Jamieson Price - Ovan & Largo (...Price can do some pretty badass voice acting. I like his role as Ovan the most because of the character's role.)
Patrick Seitz - Ragna (</3 still going strong.)

I could go on and on... But that's all. In no particular order are they my favorites. They all were very In chaarcter and fitted them perfectly.

...Characters, btw. I go by characters. Those being my 'best voice acting in a video game' :P

I don't know the names and who the Western voice actors are but Bayonetta has really good voice acting.

Yeah i agree, especially for Bayonetta herself. Very British, which fits the game so nicely.

Finished Heavy Rain yesterday, and must say the dub voices did a good job. I felt completely absorbed into the plot thanks to them.

ToV had an amazing dub, that imo is actually better than the original japanese. FFXIII does this for me too, except for Vanille. I really think her voice could have been more...consistant.

Agree completely. She kinda sounds like she has a speech impediment and not an accent. Also could have done without her moaning whenever she gets hit, or casts a spell, or sees something interesting, or, uh... pretty much everything. The rest of the cast is great though, Sazh especially.

Games with the best voice acting:

Half-Life 2 + Episodes (Alyx Vance. 'nuff said.)
Planescape: Torment (Great voice cast, especially Nordom.)
Arcanum: Of Steamworks & Magick Obscura (FOPPISH ELVES IN TOP HATS!)
Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords (Kreia's voice actress was absolutely amazing.)

Duke Nukem's voice acting is a poor ripoff of the Evil Dead films.

Charles Martinet - Mario/Luigi/Wario/Waluigi

Never been a more memorable guy when it comes to fake italian accents.~

David Hayter - Solid Snake/Big Boss

What can I say? Guy is kick-ass.

Ryan Drummond - Sonic the Hedgehog/Metal Sonic

Sonic's VA for Adventure, Adventure 2 and Heroes. Naturally captured the carefree yet smug personality of the character. His role as Metal Sonic was heavily edited to sound robotic, but it was still epiclly psychotic.

Dan Green - Mephiles the Dark (Sonic 2006)

While this was a crappy game with even crappier voice acting (and not to mention he works for a company which rapes anime), Dan Green still shone through with this role, ecpecially when he did his maniacal laugh. Not to mention a lot of other roles he does are pretty epic as well.

Deem Bristow (R.I.P.) - Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik

Voiced Robotnik in Sonic Adventure, Adventure 2 and Heroes. Excellent job at portraying the anger and manic behind the mad doctor. I'd say my favorite scene is when he's making his announcement to destroy the world in SA2.

John Rhys-Davies' narration in Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness was the main reason I played the game.

Why is there no thread for Splinter Cell: Conviction yet? Anyway, I'll throw one of my new favorites out there. "I have a message for those who stand in my way. Pray."- Sam Fisher aka Michael Ironside

Because Splinter Cell is a terrible franchise which is easily evident to anyone who has played the greatest stealth series of all time, Thief.

Yeah Michael Ironside did do a good job voicing Fisher. Though I always think of Total Recall when I hear his voice now, lol.
