The whole show is not very friendly for male viewers, I would think.

I mean the main male character is a ridiculed virgin who battles with a villain named after erectile dysfunction and smashes his nuts with first a horned boot then a penis shaped sword...

According to someone on ANN who went to the seiyuu event they came out in suits and at first tried to pretend it was a serious show. They also apparently apologized to Capcom for how the series came out. Lol

They also said the series is um more aimed at guys. I mean yes I am a girl who is enjoying it but come on the ending is a joke making fun of the concept of bishounen. I have a feeling nothing will be sacred with this series.

This show is very very silly and I'm loving it. Normally I'd not bother with an RPG themed show but this one does not take itself in the slightest bit seriously which makes it fun.

As well as ED's rather unfortunate first name, his second name rang a bell. "Wasn't there some American polititican called Dukakis?" I thought, and there was, he lost the 1988 election to Bush I.

I'm kind of wondering if any of the other bad guys are named after politicians, now...

I don't think it's making fun of the concept of bishounen per se, more like the clichéd "here's the Bishounen Corps for our female audience" you often get in such rpg/anime/manga. But in any case the humor makes it quite obvious who it is mainly targeted at.

Yup. The targeting audience is clear. So here's a game fanboy or geek type main guy who travels into the game world and beats up bishies, shattering their balls in the process. This show really makes fun of bishies (and especially in old shoujo, the curly blond around RoV era or something?)

They kind of remind me of ones from the 90's. lol

But I expect we are seeing what the staff grew up with.

I think the show is making fun of a little of everything. I expect the buxom lady will also turn into something quite silly.
