To be fair to Korean animators, they were just starting out and they had to copy something. But yeah, not the most proud moment in Korean animation history.

Actually, its mainly due to them being forbidden to import selected Japanese media at the time.

If I recall correctly, certain medias from Japan could still be banned.

That is true as well, even when was a kid things likes NES was banned. I thank the black market for providing my childhood gaming.
