That sure took a long time, but I'm really happy that Germany finally broke Italy's winning streak against them in international competitions. That penalty shootout started weird with that many players missing on both sides before normality resumed.
I hope France will win against Iceland so we can have that dreamed Germany/France match for another moment of anthology. Last edited by KiraYamatoFan; 2016-07-02 at 20:10. |

lol, Zaza's role was to come up to the pitch for 30s and missed the penalty
And even after that, Italy had the chance to win, but Pelle... sigh...and I am not the fan of this new German style of football Which team can stop Germany now??

Re-bienvenue à la réalité (Welcome back to reality).
France knew that the best way to kill Iceland's confidence was to strike early, and to do it with hammers and tons. That first half was a beauty. After that, France slowed down the tempo and allowed Iceland to score on crosses (a weakness to exploit perhaps?). It's a shame that we can't have France vs. Germany in the final. It should be a great match. This is where mental toughness will become mostly important. Last edited by KiraYamatoFan; 2016-07-03 at 19:31. |

Talk about the weirdest run at an international tournament so far... Portugal didn't win their first 4 matches, but then win the quarterfinal match at the death against poland and 2-0 in the semifinal against Wales. I'm lost for words here.

In any case, it's almost too strange to see Portugal getting there after the shitty start they had. |

The funniest part about the semis? Germany thinking they're handball players again. This time Schweinsteiger. He missed the penalty last week so why this now?
Neuer was comical on the second. Did he want to punch it or got caught in two minds? Germany never had a clear target in the box but pumped in several fruitless crosses, so this really shows the lack of depth they have up front. For me, I'm pleased France got through. Always did support the French national team from a young age. Hopefully they win this tournament to erase the crap that happened in the last seven or eight years.

The injuries did Germany in. Could not compensate the loss of Gomez. Without him Germany just doesn't have the necessary firepower in the box, especially with Müller playing some of his worst ball ever. Still, despite all this the French still needed the Germans to gift them the game. Not impressed by Deschamps coaching. Ronaldo now has the one golden opportunity to rewrite the Ronaldo-Messi narrative. If he manages to beat France while Messi lost the Copa after missing the first penalty...

14 years. With 2010 as the absolute nadir of Les Bleus' history. We were so close back in 2006 till Zidane decided to make a point on that Italian with his head.
