I guess Itami's logic behind being taken prisoner, was that after making so much headway with this order of Rose Knights, it'd be a major setback to have to have shoot up a dozen or two of them.

Course even though the boss is trying to put the lower ranking rose knights in their place, the rest of the squad is moving in with the assumption they need to rescue Itami. This could get very dangerous or very silly quite quickly.

Apparently it's revealed by Itami's squad that he is a qualified Ranger in the JSDF, of course the fantasy girls laugh this off in disbelief considering what his personality is like. But I have to ask, is a JSDF Ranger similar to America's rangers, or are they like our Marines or SEALS?

Quick version is they are Japanese special forces/paratroopers.

From what I can tell from the japanese wikipedia page translation, Tuka (the Elf) has strong feelings toward Itami but is hindered because the fire dragon attack caused her to have a sort of mental breakdown close to PTSD soldiers get. And since Itami resembles her father she's taken to the habit of calling him "father" due to her mental health (This is evident in the novels so I'm not sure if it will show up in the manga or not.)

For one reason or another later on in the series Rori Mercury ( goth loli demigod apostle girl) has taken to the acts of trying to seduce him so yeah she likes him as well.

Lelei la Lelena (mage girl) seems to have that of kuudere feelings towards Itami and gets jealous when other girls approach him.

Pina co lata's ( princess) feelings seems to stop at great admiration for Itami and is taken under his wing in the ways of the Otaku.

There is also a dark elf later in the series (physically in her early 30's, actually 315 years old) that also shows an interest in Itami (not sure if its romantic or not). The translation from the Japanese wiki page is pretty bad for her paragraph but from what I can piece together she may or may not be a widow.

Other than those five Itami is more popular with the girls from the other world than we might have thought thanks to his kind personality and future accomplishments and awards later in the series. As to whether or not he reciprocates these feelings to any of the other girls I'm not sure.

I began to think that Rori god, Emroy might have frequently visit modern day Japan and took interest in otaku. That would explain why his apostle wearing gothic. If later we see his other disciple wearing maid outfit that I'm pretty sure that's the case.

A, yeah; I remember that. It says that he actually deserted the last part of the Ranger training but they still approved as graduated. That was one of the reasons of why his immediate superior didn't wanted him leading an unit.
