Akane's side of the story. What a cutie.

The episode was fun with the continuous cat-and-mouse game involving Celty. Glad to know she kept Akane safe. Interesting to see Izaya making his moves as usual as well in this arc; although I think he is taking a bit of a chance.

I usually don't have problem with Izaya being troll and supreme bastard, but this episode I really felt like punching him for manipulating Akane like this.

On another note, Celtys horse raised into ranks of all other hillarious characters for me.

So that gallery was a front all along. Which is why Shiki's place had frames. No wonder the gallery manager wanted Walker out of there. He can tell which are fakes.

Izaya has used the handle Nakura before. He used it on the suicide girl who is at present with one of Chikahe's GF's.

The damn asshole has a habit on preying on vulnerable girls with family problems and using proxies. If the Yakuza finds out he is dead.

What he did was so low that Shizuo is holding up his anger just for him.

Izaya seems to know something about Ruri. Looks like the guys she killed were related to the Yakuza. Did Ruri kill Shiki's guys? Don't think so.

Vorona thinks Mikado is another monster that could be fought. Anri went out to help him rescue Chikage's gf.

Aoba seems to be clueless about Celty. Tracking that string.

Oh Shooter... Like Celty and Shizuo he does not want people especially children to be afraid of it.

Suddenly, Shizuo's wrath doesn't feel wrong

Nothing out of character for Izaya. He's usually up to disgusting stuff like messing around with vulnerable people. Pretty sure episode 1 of the first season made that kind of thing clear enough. Be nice one day to have Shizuo punch him into orbit.

The situation is starting to get out of hand and there are a lot of pieces in motion right now. Should be interesting at least to see how everything unfolds from here.

Well Izaya manipulating peope is nothing new. Everyone seems to especially angry now that he is manipulating a loli like Akane.

Akane's side of the story.
It all started so innocently..
The truth came out soon enough.
Guess that's when everything changed for her..
Of course Izaya had to mess things up even more.
Things are starting to unfold!

Poor Akane, realizing your family is not what actually is must be tough, also being manipulated by Izaya like that, meanwhile, it look like a all out war is starting with Toramaru and the Dollars, plus we have Vorona and Sloan which are really dangerous too.

-Weird that Chikage would call Kadota an old man when they look around similar ages. Looking forward to their fight next week.

EDIT: BTW the weapon Chikage is using is called a Kabutowari.

-I like how that Shinra concluded that Shizuo couldn't have killed Awakusu-kai's men not because he didn't think Shizuo wasn't capable of it, but due to the fact they were still vaguely recognizable as human beings. Not to mention the surroundings still being intact. The logic works as I suppose.

-Nothing like waking up one day to find out you're loving family is actually leaders of a crime syndicate and part of your life has been a lie. Akane's got quite a complicated situation she living in, especially for someone her age. Izaya taking advantage of it certainly didn't do her favors. It's kinda of reminiscent of Rio's issues, but much worse.

-Speaking of Rio, it's ironic how she's once again indirectly being dragged into Izaya schemes since he's inciting the Dollars to kidnap Chikage's girlfriends which she isn't even apart of. It's definitely going to happen thanks to tension and Toramaru's aggressive assaults.

-I can't blame Vorona for thinking Mikado must be a monster too since he hangs out with Anri and Celty.

I just realized not only does Akane have a nice but scary family but she also now has nice but scary nii-chan and nee-chans in Shizuo, Anri and Celty.

Considering Shinra and Seiji were messed up in the head for getting involved with the supernatural at a young age I shudder to think about Akane.

She found out her world is a lie but running away revealed to her a world where fantasy is reality.

Hmm... was that really the real Izaya in Akane's flashback? There had to be a reason why he looks different and has no actual voice in her flashback.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was some people born in criminal families that do want to be known not because of their family being involved in it.

Don't know any real examples though, which is sad.

I don't know why, I still enjoy the 2nd season, but I don't feel as pumped as the time the first season aired. I still like the show, but some things is missing for me and I can't pinpoint what they are.

Though I guess there is one thing that I can say that I miss from the 1st season. Back then I really like how clever and interesting the ever-changing narrators for each episode was. When one character narrates an episode, it became their episode. Even the monologues were well-written and in-character with their own viewpoints on the events before their eyes. This is something definitely lacking for the narration in this season, it just isn't as good as it used to be, sometimes I find it really abundant (like the narrations of Namie in ep 5 and the mafia guy in previous episode).

I think also largely depends on upbringing too. Akane for most intents and purposes was brought up as a normal (and rather intentionally sheltered) kid (unlike say Shinra) so the shock of this is much greater.
