A bit less than three out of nine volumes have been animated, but Kyon and Haruhi's relationship doesn't really progress much beyond whats established in the anime. Haruhi did coerce the other girls into helping her give Kyon a Valentine in a roundabout way, but they still haven't even approached the level of the kiss that ended the first volume. On the other hand, some stuff is revealed about Kyon's connection to Haruhi and why she 'chose' him, sorta.

It's a pretty good read. If you're considering it, then by all means I would say go for it.

Thanks for the answer. And if there is a manga... which one would you recommend? I personally prefer mangas over novel, since i would be doing this only to know about what happens next it doesnt matter.

And is there going to be a sequel to the anime?

I think there are two mangas, one really old one that was horrible and only lasted one volume and the current one which came out around the time of the anime. I haven't really read the manga, just a couple chapters way back, but some people seem to like it. The novels are quite a bit further along, though, as it's the original, so I would suggest that.

Season 2 of Haruhi has been announced, but we still don't know when it's actually gonna come out. The expectation is pretty much sometime this summer or fall.

Summer, if it's this year. The sequel to Clannad is coming this fall.

Also, how's it been? Haven't seen you in a few months.

:P Hmm, I've been following most of the threads but haven't had that much to say, unfortunately. Since most of the activity has been in the genderbending thread and seriously that thread got too huge before I could even get into it I've been hanging out in the Code Geass forum lately (don't worry though, Haruhi is still my number one ).

...You should totally spend a weekend reading the Genderbending thread.

We could use your intelligence.

Ha, man, I just checked it right now and it's over 450 pages long. I don't think a weekend would cover it. From what I remember, though, you and a couple other guys were in charge of writing everything up, as far as the adaptation goes? Maybe a couple links to what's been produced so far and I'll toss in some constructive criticism.

Even though I like Haruhi I don't post here and I started to see these genderbending going on. So what was the origin of the genderbending?

I have a question!

Does anybody have Haruhi's entire self-introduction speech in romaji? You know, the one where she first announces to the class that she has "no interest in ordianry humans", etc etc.

Kyonko is a made-up character created by the fan community. Discover more about the Gender Bending fan project in its thread here on this forum.

How do you translate "Beam cannons, open fire!" or "Fire all beam cannons!"?

Is it "Senbeam ho hanshou!"

You mean "Zen beam hou! Hassou!" (literally "all beam cannons, fire!")
