So, for those who'll be watching the anime, here's my humble ballpark for you guys to expect.

Episodes 1-6 - Common route the first
Episode 7 - Rin the first
Episode 8-10 - Common route the second
Episode 11 - BASEBALL!
Episode 12 - 13 - Komari
Epsiode 14 - 21 - Kudo, Yuiko, Haruka and Mio (not necessarily in that order)
Episode 22 - Rin the second
Episode 23 - 25 - Little Busters!
Episode 26 - Refrain - Faraway and Born into the World

That seems like a fair estimate, eh?

I believe it'll be a two season anime. One for LB! Common route, and all the girls up to Rin 2.

After that, LB! Refrain With the whole of refrain + ex routes.

That's my bet too. In one season they can't possibly fit the entire Little Busters story.

Season two would cover exclusive to Saya and the EX routes.

The heroine routes are short, unless the developers plan to enhance the story. Having two episodes each ain't an unreasonable expectation.

This just leaves the Common route which had the most meat in the game. They could have ten episodes devoted to hijinks, but would the average Japanese viewer stomach those? I've a small doubt the developers would go that route and would instead appeal to story progression - thus keeping (in my opinion) the best part of Little Busters! short.

Furthermore, I believe that Kurugaya and the Evil Twin (what's her name? And I know she's not evil, I just can't remember her) will be OVA's. Which opens up 4 more eps for common route.

If you had to axe someone from the series for it to be in an OVA like tomoyo and Kyou had... who would it be?

I don't see any problem with the OVA being based around the EX girls, mainly Saya and Sasami (Haruka's twin could be done along with Haruka)...or not even based on any girl, how about an OVA about the guys? I'd love that! I love Kengo and Masato, LB is nothing without those two! Hell just based an episode around the muscle route! Or make up a new story for the OVA around the 4 LB guys in their quest for wasting time!

If there is any OVA, it would be about one of the girls, which could not be done any other way...

The whole point of refrain is the bromance ¬¬. Saya I believe will be put into the series from the start, as she shows up in the early PV....

Sunohara from Clannad didn't have a particular route in Clannad (Anime) but he still came across as a bro.

Of course, the common route bromance is great, and I want to see a lot of pranks, etc, but Refrain should be all about what Refrain is. Serious Bromance and everything else.

I've read they did some changes to movie versions of Clannad and Air, seeing as it's a different studio as I've also read, it might have a different interpretation than in the game with regards to plot progression. They might do away with some of the elements like Kurugaya's or Rin's in favor of leading up to the "end", and then whoosh "travel time", whoosh "Refrain".

(Leaving out "the secret of the world" entirely, and just having the "two of them" perform the miracle immediately)

Which would mean the entire Key fanbase, who watches anime too, goes nuclear.

How did they handle it in Clannad or AIR in the TV? The former especially, with the lights mechanic which is echoed in Little Busters!.

In addition: Also, the Kanata route is heavily dosed with the other girls' (and Kengo's) impression revolving around the "secret", it's not merely showing off Kanata's side of the twin's story.

In any case, I'm sure that Key only wants the best for their poster anime, and since they now have signed with JC staff I bet that they made Key an offer they couldn't refuse.

Key wouldn't allow the anime to be butchered, but some concessions have to be made somewhere.

From what I gather, it's not that JC Staff made an offer they couldn't refuse, but more like everyone that Key WANTED kept pushing back possible dates and contracts until Key had enough and picked JC Staff.

If I had to leave one story out of the anime, it would definitely be Komari's. Never liked her or her route and it doesn't really seem to have the overall weight to it that other routes do. However, since she's almost the secondary heroine in some respects I suppose that would be unlikely.

Oh and the twin's name is Futaki Kanata. Since I can't read Japanese, I look forward to the EX patch. While Saya seems to be the most popular, I must admit that I look forward to her the least due to not really being present like either Sasami or Kanata were.

Spoiler for Wafuuuu: Well I do believe that if they go through each route then there's no problem with going with Kurugaya's route and then have the true ending post refrain...much like what really happened in the VN. In the VN Kurugaya's route serves as the best hint giver that something big is going on with the world (aside from the Rin routes). If you play the other routes alone then aside from a subtle hint here and there, you won't realize that the world might not be real (people usually attribute the magical things like Kuu's chain breaking and Mio's shadow to a supernatural element added in for plot purposes). But Kurugaya's route usually leaves you thinking about the world as a whole rather than a supernatural occurrence here and there. It would be a sin to not show Kurugaya's route along with the other girls and I'm not saying this because she's my favorite, but because it is needed for the overall story (and of course she IS one of the main girls after all, not like the EX girls which are just some additions). Not only is she my favorite in both route (apart from Refrain) and character, but her story is a massive hint to what's going on. Just pulling Refrain out of nowhere would be rather bizarre. It also puts all the things like Mio's route in proper context. Where else could Midori exist but a dream world? Oh and the twin's name is Futaki Kanata. Since I can't read Japanese, I look forward to the EX patch. While Saya seems to be the most popular, I must admit that I look forward to her the least due to not really being present like either Sasami or Kanata were.
