Watched the first episode, but the initial premise that both leads have to pretend to date is kind of hard to swallow. Both leaders want peace, but rather than use their authority of being the head of their organizations they use the most roundabout way to establish a fake peace by shoving all their responsibilities onto their kids.

Reminds me too much of Seto no Hanayome Kayou Zenshuu Ningyo in that respect. Might give it a couple more episode to see if it gets any better.

So, from what I've read in the last couple pages, Nisekoi is a series that started as a romance, but then became a so-so SoL comedy, and its mostly being kept alive by funny faces and people who has found a girl to cheer for (Though more realistically speaking, its probably because of a younger audience that doesn't know about the likes of Love Hina or Ichigo 100%)

I'm still sticking with this, it sounds like something that needs to be seen to be believed.

When you mention it like that it makes me wonder whether the parents know more about the keys and promises (they're their parents after all). Thinking about it makes me more excited for the future manga chapters and anime eps. =w=

As long as SHAFT still gives us the reaction faces, I'm fine with the adaptation. However, it does seem like they're jumping straight into the locket storyline instead.

Spoiler for opinion about manga:

it would be bad if Nisekoi only get animated in 12 episodes... it won't go anywhere yet

With that cooking animation at the start, I am kind of disappointed SHAFT hasn't been assigned to adapt Souma. Instead they got the WSJ romcom....

Did anyone feel that the pace of the episode was a little too fast?
I felt the manga chapter was too (I only read one). I expect the manga-ka got better as the series goes on.
I'm definitely sticking with it. Total sucker for plots like this. Gawd, it's like Watashi Ni XX Shinasai, shounen style....

SHAFT is trying hard. The struggle is real to salvage this generic harem plot.

Well, yes, I'm sure they are. Chapter 1 and episode 1 match perfectly. It was more enjoyable to watch it than to read it so yeah, they're fine in that aspect.

Actually I think nisekoi shaft makes sense. Only shaft can animate the artsy funny faces. Besides u can tell the author is trying for shaft when he gave raku yuno's hair clip.

I think those posts are just personal hope/wishes. But, realistically speaking, we all (should) know not to expect the next White Album 2 out of this series (especially after watching epsiode 1 ).

I know about that part as well, though I haven't read it yet.

Wait, so the next 11 episodes or so will be about nothing at all?

Given who's shown in the OP, I expect that fillers won't be something we're going to get from SHAFT. It's going straight for the locket and keys.

Actually all the girls are in the intro.
3 Characters I can definitely see missing are both on Chitose's side, which would be her
father, the lieutenant and someone else.
Though they can't progress the story without the lieutenant and her father was already shown.

Good first episode with very good voice acting and probably my favorite ClariS song so far. Oh, Livetune is involved. The style sounded quite familiar.

So I heard this was good, and I also heard the manga was pretty generic/okay going into this... and was surprised.

...

The first episode was so well-done that it feels somewhat impossible to me that the original source material isn't that great.

This was by far my favorite premier of the season with World Conquest Stratagem Star following in second place.

This was great! It was so funny I was laughing really hard while watching this. I'm definitely watching this, this season.

I've only seen like one shaft show before and didn't really like the style that much... (monogotari but I'm still continuing it...) but this is absolutely amazing.

I really like what they did with this and how they animated this.

I'm sure this will be an amazing anime!
