I know it's censorship, it's just really badly done. Even beams of light would have been better than this.

I thought it was some sort of slimy goo that forms after she uses her quirk . If it's just censorship then it's disappointing.

Is not that true, or did you forget the training arc where several girls appear naked and Kouta even fainted?

Spoiler for not recommended to see it the work:

That was just a small change that does not affect the story. and in fact, it makes sense to either be she using her power or be a special outfit that allows her not to be unprotected on the battlefield.

People who are bothered by these things have not lived through the time One Piece was broadcast in the USA by 4kids.

And yet those who saw her said she was naked. She's not obscuring anything with anything: it's just censorship.

Regarding the training arc, a single view into the girls' bath is one thing, and it's a common trope. A girl moving about acrobatically on the battlefield is something else altogether, apparently.

I wonder if the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning is a rival USA hero school ...

That does not make sense, Ashido is showing a lot more in this anime image than Camie in any other part of the manga. Nudity is nudity, by its logic then nipples could be allowed in that justification.

And honestly, if the problem is senxuality, this outfit does not take any of this, as this image shows:

Images
Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?

What's more, if anyone wants to see free nudity, just watch Nanatsu no Taizai, it's broadcast in the morning on TV and there's plenty of it;

You are missing the point. She is naked. This is established in-universe by dialogue and shown clearly enough in the manga. Your opinion about it doesn't matter because it has been confirmed by canon that she is naked. Thus, the white bodysuit-like coloring over her body is censorship. Why they decided to add that effect, I don't know: I assume because they're overreactive and stupid. That doesn't change the fact that they chose not to make her look naked despite it being officially established that she is.

As for how it would look without that effect, here's someone's low-res attempt to show what it should look like. (NSFW) Your mileage may vary, but in the end your opinion doesn't matter. Someone decided to censor this scene, and not the bath scene earlier. For whatever reason they decided this scene was worse. That is a fact, which supercedes any opinions you might have about how sexual or not this actually looks.

This season will remain in the same time slot that the second season had previously occupied, airing every Saturday at 5:30pm in Japan on the Nippon TV (NTV) and Yomiuri Telecasting Corporation (YTV) stations.[5]
It airs on family prime time, not past midnight like other shows that actually go down the risque line. Plus the target demographic for this show is intended to go past the Otaku base, covering both kids and general population that might not be as tolerant to fan service, even censored.

tldr Think of the kids.

disclaimer: I'm not saying whether this is right or wrong, I'm just stating the most probable reason.

I'm not saying there was no censorship, I'm just saying that I do not understand all this confusion and criticizes for something so small that it has been changed. Just that, this psychotic obsession that some fans has to want everything to be extremely equal to the original source scares me sometimes, just that.

If only it were something like changing the story of how Todoroki got his scar or cut off all the abuse scenes that his father made his mother suffer. Okay, that's important to the story, but what happened to Camie is something very insignificant, but this is in my opinion, I do not doubt to find in some place reviews of how the anime is horrible and Bones is one of the worst studies created because of it.

If that were the reason, this scene would not exist:

Spoiler for scene nudity:

and Nanatsu no Taizai would also not be displayed in the morning.

Japan has always had censorship standards difficult to understand, just remember One Piece that allows for several things equal to the manga and Reborn that censored everything.

That's a fairly good point. The only thing I could imagine is that since that was from the beginning of the season, that's enough time for people to have made complaints and the production studio to take action on it. At some point I thought it could also be due to the episode director having individual issues with explicit nudity, but I can't imagine this kind of decisions not being handed from above. This is all speculation though

PS I created an imgur link for the image you referred to. Feel free to edit your post with it.

Possibly different someones made the decisions and drew the line at different places.

i do also think there is the possibility that decisions changed over time. Censors might have let the hot spring scene pass the first time, only for them to rethink the decision later and thus make corrections for the future. The real test would be to see how japan handles re-airing the episode; will the play the hot spring scene the same away, or will the girls be obscured by more steam the next time?

However i can see one clear difference between the two scenes; The hot spring shot was 2 seconds long, where as Camie was running around naked for a full minute. That can make a difference, as the hot spring goes by so quickly that you barely see anything in detail. Its there just long enough to know that the girls were naked but gone before you can get a good look. With camie on the other hand, she was on screen long enough for the audience to see everything. I can easy see why the censors might treat the two differently for that reason alone

Ah the latest episode is out.

Personally, I think the IQ quirk used by Saiko is one of the most unique ones so far. It felt more like a mind games between the two sides this week.

Momo really impressed me though with her thinking and taking the risk to ultimately allow her team to secure the victory.
Heh, Bakugo is still a hothead by rushing into battle as usual. Very expected of him. I also agree with Eraser Head about the two guys he mentioned about Class A.

It was a good ep, I'm really starting to get invested in this particular challenge for the 1A kids. Asui looked very sad getting ready to hibernate, then very cool tackling Saiko with a droopy eyelid.

That was a pretty good ep. It's nice to see the side characters get some focus. Really happy with the way Momo was depicted in this episode. She never gave up and managed to outsmart an opponent whose quirk was super intelligence. That says a lot about her.
