An original TV anime titled 'Action Heroine Cheer Fruit' has been announced. To be aired on TBS.

Plot Summary:

The "local heroine fighter" of a certain city became popular and a national star. Because of this, "local heroines" debuted in various other places, and their action live events became a hit trend nationally.

The anime is set in Hinano City, a tranquil area that cultivates fruits, but has lost its vitality. For the town she loves, high school girl Misaki Shirogane and other girls become local heroines (at the urging of Misaki's aunt, the prefectural governor) and vow to produce action live events. The teen story depicts their strenuous efforts to revitalize their town.

First anime this season that was generally interesting! This season has been saved for now.

Well... I was... quite pleasantly surprised. In summary, it felt like an interesting Sakura Quest, but it also reminded me of that Samurai Flamenco anime.

Anyways, it was cute to watch. The scene where the energetic girl getting embarrassed when she jump kicked and flashed her panties surprisingly got points from me. Like, huh, so you do get embarrassed at something.
The subject is interesting, though it seems to make a lot of references that I don't really understand, which would make it even more interesting to watch probably.
And I'm sure the OP this time is a special one-time OP, but man, that old-ish font and everything. (And the animation and singing still is better than the ones these days that hire cheap non-professionals...)

The first episode was actually kind of ... charming. I was pleasantly surprised by the material. Definitely will give the second ep a go ... this could turn out to be a nice surprise to be sure! ^^

I do wonder how the premise will be able to effectively dragged out over a cour - I could see it working well, for example, for a long'ish anime movie.

Well, it has caught my initial interest at least.

Watched episode 1:

Surprisingly enjoyable first episode. Akagi and Mikan made me laugh. this anime seems to be a mix of sentai and kamen rider, with some comedy too.

And Mikan looks like a younger Kotori Minami from Love Live, she even sounds a bit like Kotori. ^___^

Yeah, it's yet another 'revitalise the fading small town' show, which seems to be replacing "save our closing school" as a plot device these days.
The characters are engaging, there's a motive, and there's a hint at some politics going on in the background which could be interesting.

Also. Roko lives in a train!

I am not quite sure what it is, but there is something about this series that works for me too. Am also putting it on the "followed" list. It is odd and quirky in an endearing way that I am able to process somehow.

Yes, I like it, but I wonder how well it is being received on a wider level both in Japan itself and outside of it?

Saw the first episode. I like it. It's quite cute and charming. I like how they made the OP like a homage to 80's/90's magical girl show openings.
