Natsume Yuujinchou Shi

Fourth season source:

Quote:
The November issue of Hakusensha's LaLa magazine is announcing on Saturday that the fourth season of Natsume's Book of Friends will premiere in Japan next January. Natsume Yūjin-Chō Shi will follow three months after the third season, Natsume Yūjin-Chō San, reaches its climax in Japan on September 29.
Spoiler for Picture length:

I haven't seen a post for this so..here it is. I like the new logo but i think they should have switched season 3 and this one, the gold doesn't really feel like its a winter series.

Plot Summary: Natsume Takashi sees spirits, and with the help of his lazy and sake-guzzling bodyguard Nyanko-Sensei he returns to spirits their names that were stolen by his grandmother Natsume Reiko. Not all of the spirits are peaceful though, and he often fights to keep himself and his family and friends safe while at the same time fighting the loneliness that plagued him before he found his home. (from ANN)

Announced Staff:
Animation Studio: Brains Base
Production: NAS
Director: Takahiro Omori
Series Composition: Sadayuki Murai
Music: Makoto Yoshimori

Opening Theme: Ima, Kono Toki. by Kiiragi
Ending Theme: Takaramono by Marina Kawano

YAY!!! A fourth season!! This is one of my favorite anime of all time and I'm glad it's been getting the attention it deserves! I can't wait for January!...but I still wish someone would license all the seasons and dub them already!

Brains Base heard the cash registers - every season has sold a ton of DVDs and Blu-rays... Deservedly so, but let's not kid ourselves about why it's been a sequel machine.

At least it's a great show (i know opinion but still) that actually sells well that's hard to imagine in this day and age. Look at all of Manglobe's series: They're pretty awesome but they hardly don't even sell well. I'm still amazed Gundam Seed Destiny sold over 50,000 DVDs....

I don't disagree, it's rare and wonderful to see a great series sell well. In my view (which I know won't be shared by all, especially in one example) this year featured two in Steins;Gate and AnoHana.

Continuation of Natsume was the best news in a long while. I love that anime to pieces

this just popped up to me, but does anyone know how the sales have been for the past seasons?, i'm just assuming it did well since we keep getting more seasons.

such wonderful news! I agree. Not all great series are received well, so it's good to see Natsume getting fair treatment.

I don't know how well San sold but I think the original and Zoku are Brain Bases's second highest selling shows (under Durarara!!, I think I saw that one or two volumes may have broken 10,000? The numbers are somewhere on the forums....)

San has maintained the numbers from the first two seasons with eerie consistency. Natsume fans are clearly hooked, so this is a very safe show for Brain's Base to keep funding.

That cracks me up, it's nearly the complete opposite of what usually moves DVDs yet it's like printing money for BB. Now if only we could get it in the States....

Watched the PV...some thoughts:

-Wow, everything looks better animated than season 3. Brains Base is making bank on this series for sure and it shows.
-Doesn't seem to have a Reiko presence..but who knows.
-That OP song...ugh. Please let that be part of the full version and not part of the OP, cause that was really weak.

More Natsume is always welcome. I am not worried about them not animating the entire manga anymore. I mean 4 seasons! They will animate everything eventually. And it's a good thing I didn't start reading the manga. I am going to stay away unless I am reading older stuff.
